Wythe Striders

THE BIG BLAZE 5K WAS HELD AUGUST 22, 2009.  THE MORNING STARTED WITH RAIN, BUT BY THE TIME OF THE RACE, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.  WE WERE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN THE SMALL TURNOUT BUT WERE VERY EXCITED ABOUT ALL THOSE WHO WERE THERE.  THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS AND CONTRIBUTORS TO THE RACE, PARTICULARLY THE WYTHEVILLE PARK AND RECS AND THE WYTHE COUNTY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL.  WE HAD A LOT OF VERY GOOD COMMENTS ABOUT OUR RACE, AND THAT IS ONLY POSSIBLE WITH ALL THE HELP WE RECEIVE.    WE HAVE A FEW PICTURE THANKS TO THE WYTHEVILLE ENTERPRISE.  IF ANYONE HAS PICTURES THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE, JUST EMAIL THEM TO US.

5K held 1/1/09.  What a great way to start the new year.  Thanks to all our participants.

 

 

Welcome!
      We are the Wythe Striders of Wythe County,VA.  We are centered in Wytheville,Virginia (which is half way between Roanoke and Bristol.)  We are a diverse group of individuals with a common interest of running for fun.  We talk about races we went to and upcoming events. We also discuss our training and our minor aches and pains. We do speed workouts and long runs together.
