This website has been created by Ruth & Rachel Short. Our mother, Reba (Wykes) Short is the youngest daughter of Charles Haywood Wykes Jr. and Tressie Freda Meharg Wykes. This collection of pictures, letters, and other documents have come mainly from the old Wykes home place (Charles H. Wykes Sr.'s home).
The purpose of this website is to create an avenue for passing down the Wykes family history that is as accessible as possible to the many branches of Wykes descendents. We want to learn from past generations and tell our stories to our children and children's children.
With this in mind, we would be grateful for photos, letters or any other family information that others would like to share. We also have some information on several of the Robey relatives, and would be happy to add any other contributions.

Everyone in our family has the same initials: RMS :-) Daddy (Richard), Mama (Reba), Ryan, Ruth, and Rachel. The three of us children are all very grateful to have been homeschooled. We are glad to all be living at home and serving together as a family. Ryan recently acquired pilot's license, and we girls are enjoying homemaking and doing many different projects including compiling family history whenever we have opportunity.
The following picture is a favorite of ours because it shows our great-grandmother lined up with her five daughters. We have made it a tradition to take pictures in this same manner occasionally.
