Some Very interesting sites (besides ours)

For some interesting information on the 36th Division http://www.kwanah.com/txmilmas/index.htm . This site covers the history of the 36th from Africa up through Italy and into Germany.  It has som very interesting pictures.

Another site of intrest to this area is  devoted to the women who flew the planes to the men on the front lines.  read about these brave women at:  http://www.wasp-wwii.org/ .

For those who are followers of both Europe and Pacific wars, another interesting site is: http://www.worldwar2history.info/ .

To send us your information about Veterans of the WW2 era please click on the link below. We would like to have names of persons who were from Coleman County, Persons who now live in Coleman County. Any person who served in any way during the 2nd world war.

If you had a relative who was killed in the War, please let us know the name, rank, where they were from and where they were killed.

We have some published information from a book that was put out in the middle to late 40's. This book is not complete, so We Need your help. 

 We have assigned tasks for some committee members pertaining to the displays and the parade.

6:00Pm  -  Tuesday Aug 30

We will have several of the veterans and some of those who served the war effort in civilian life to help us with this program.

We now have the parade set at 5:30PM Sept 2. Also set that day will be notices on the radio, Sirens to comemerate the sighing of the surrender, and some of the schools will have a special inter school program at 9:00AM. A group of WW2 planes will do a fly-over during the parade.

 Saturday will be a display of WW2 artifacts in the hanger at the Coleman Airport and a dance on Saturday night with mostly 1940's music.
