With the team once again moving home to the Welling Snooker club and only half of it's player's signing up for the new season, some fresh faces were drafted in, so with a new venue and a new look team we set about improving on last season's mid table finish. Although the summer league is supposed to be more relaxed with no promotion or relegation involved we set out to do as best as we can. With a Lord Raglan 'A' team containing 3 Premier league winners, it became apparent that after a few matches second place was what we were to aim for. And second place is were we stayed until the very last frame of the season, a 7-6 defeat to The Ship at home cost us 2nd Spot, it was our home record in the second half of the season that let us down, losing 3 of 4 at home. Our away record could have not been better, only 1 defeat, we even inflicted Raglan A their only loss of the season, it was their B team that would end our away run on the 29th july, a run that went back to last season (December 07). Out of our 5 defeats we were only truly beaten twice, we threw away the other 3, so there is still room for more improvement in the coming season. So with the league being re-shuffled is there a chance of promotion to the Premier League ???.

With relegation looming the team stepped up.With a final position of 5th. For our first season not to bad, but could have been better. Without our strongest team available for most of the season, and losing some key players we had no consistency, to many 7-6 scorelines and throwing big leads away. Our best run of form of 4 wins on the spin to end the season, all of which we played without a full team, pulled us out of the bottom three. 21 points off promotion could have been a lot closer on reflection of our games against the teams above us. With the team settling down and a couple of new signings the summer season should show some improvement.
