In early winter 2005, me (Grim) and Jarn started Wrak under another name. After a couple of novelty name-changes, we ended up as Wrak.
From the beginning until now, we've had, amongst other things, problems with finding a place to rehearse. Because of this we've been unable to record music together as well. These days Jarn is for private reasons moving to England for the next two years. This means that I'm the only person in this band at the time. However this will not stop me from making music. I'll try to make a demo by my own if this is possible. When Jarn moves back from England, we will have to see what happens. Will this band become active? The truth is we really don't know. Though, on a private basis we're both active and deep into music. I'm the composer, so I'll just call it mine or Wrak's music at the time since this has become a one-man band. This also means that I'm the one who will record, mix and program everything.
What is Wrak's music like?
As I'm not a great fan of subgenres, let us just call it a mix between Black- & Death Metal, Ambient, and well...I hate subgenres. For me Metal is Metal. I don't give a shit about subgenres. It is fine to have the maingenres which are Metal, Pop, Blues etc. But when it comes to subgenres it pisses me off. Some people are just dumb and don't listen to certain types of metal just because they've heard people say bad things about it. Some are even afraid of listening to some types of music because they're afraid they'll be harassed or something. Yeah I love Black- & Death Metal, and I've been looked down upon just because of that. But I love those subgenres. And I don't give a shit about the rumors and names of all subgenres. When I make music I just make what I like. I mix all genres, not because I like all genres, but because I just make what I want to, and I do not want to be consumed by one genre. That is just to boring for me because I have to experiment and try out what I think sounds nice. What is Wrak's music like? Well, just a big pile of what I like myself really. I don't care if you like it or not, though I love getting comments. And if someone doesn't like it... Don't just say "it sucks", that doesn't explain anything to me. So if you decide to comment Wrak's music, do it in detail! It is the same with a review.- Grim (17th July 2008)
