Neighbors – a storied event
A joined creation of The Story Telling Company Inc. and MediaTech Holon
28th March between 11:00-13:00 and 20:00-22:30
Blog for the event (mostly in Hebrew) http://storyteling.wordpress.com
Audiences will enjoy a mixture of events created by the company’s ensemble members: Bahat Calatchi, Efrat Angers-Ewald, Limor Shiponi, Guy Alon, Alon Raz and Tuly flint. During the morning events we’ll travel through the MediaTech’s fabulous Hi-Tech building and library, telling on the street (that cuts through the building…), unraveling stories through neighboring rooms, meeting at “the egg” - well, that’s what the space looks like - for a good deal of storytelling for kids and gather in the auditorium for an open session about digital storytelling.
Evening events will kick-off by telling on the library street with music and refreshments, moving on to the hall for a panel about neighbors and stories and concluding with a six-storytellers-ensemble performance.
The blog will be updated daily, reviewing the preparations for the event which can be followed on Twitter too http://twitter.com/Storyteling
The event publications call for audience participation in a competition - creating 100 word stories and visuals that will be uploaded to the event’s blog. On March 1st, surfers will choose the winning story and image. Those will become the official branding and marketing materials of the event and their creators will receive full credit on all event’s publications.

6:30 THIRD FRIDAY STORYSHARING WITH DUKE ADDICKS AND FRIENDS, at Polly’s Coffee Cove, 1382 Payne Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota. CELEBRATE SPRING EQUINOX AND WORLD STORYTELLING DAY. Professional storytellers Duke Addicks and Pam Schweitzer will demonstrate storytelling, and then anyone can share a story about Spring. This event is part of a series of THIRD FRIDAY STORYSHARING which occurs every month and is hosted by Duke Addicks (Euharlee Cherokee/Clan Stewart/Frisian), and is a Northstar Storytelling League event. Each month Duke always begins by telling about an event that changed the course of history, in the life of a different powerful American Indian person who once lived in the Phalen Chain of Lakes Watershed which drains into the Mississippi River. This month (March, 2009) the story is about a fifteen year old medicine woman, who Duke Calls Conch Girl, who drowned in a glacial lake at the end of the Ice Age, more than 9,000 years ago. One of the items she was carrying was a conch shell from the Florida coast of the Gulf of Mexico that she used as a trumpet to call the rogue Woolly Mammoth males (big furry elephants who once lived here) to come to her so her father and the other men in this small band of mammoth hunters could spear the creature to death. What were the events surrounding her death? How did she get the shall? Did each band have a young medicine woman with a conch shell trumpet? Duke answers this question in his story. Questions, call Polly’s at 651-771-5531 or Duke at 651-643-0622 or Addicks.storyflute@gmail.com

The Virtual Worlds Story Project Presents The Second Life Story Quest
The Virtual World Story Project is pleased to announce its first annual Story Quest, so be held on World Storytelling Day March 20, 2009. With a goal of helping writers and storytellers imagine, craft, and share Second Life stories, the Quest will lead participants along one of three Story Trails. Along each trail will be an Enchanted Book. Touching this book will not only provide information to include in the story, but a clue that leads to the next point on the trail. The event will cover multiple sims, with a variety of themes, and conclude at Karuna where writers can sit in scenic surroundings to write and submit their stories, and/or get help from writing coaches who will be there to help. The day will conclude with story readings, the awarding of prizes, live music, and dancing.
Location: Starts on Storybook Island (in Second Life) and ends at Karuna with multiple stops at other sims. A notecard with LMs will be provided.
Start Time: Story Sleuths can pick up their first clues on Storybook Island starting at Midnight
End Time: The Quest ends at 5:00 pm SLT. That is the time that stories must be submitted. The rest of the festivities, which include story reading, live music, and dancing commence immediately after. The awards ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm.
