Daisy Troop 66442 and Brownie Troop 66232 Berlin, CT
I'm a co-leader for a troop of 2nd year Daisy scouts in Berlin, Connecticut. I wanted to let you know that on Friday night 1/23 we, along with our sister Brownie troop of 2nd graders, hosted a pajama party for all of the Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade girl scouts in our girls' school. We had 63 girls and collected 77 pairs of pajamas, 2 bathrobes and 1 pair of slippers! The Friendship Service Center in New Britain, CT will be the recipient of half of the jammies and we are awaiting word from our local Pajama Program Coordinator as to where the other half will be going. Our party was 90 minutes and we had pillowcase decorating, nail painting, color-your-own-tattoos, freeze dance, limbo, and a short movie with popcorn. It was so much fun and for such a great cause! The girls had a great time at our party and already there is a lot of buzz about doing it again next year. Thanks for inspiring us to participate in "The World's Biggest Pajama Party"!On Friday night, over one hundred Girl Scouts from Keyport, Union Beach and Keansburg got together at Union Beach Memorial School to participate in their first major volunteer effort for the new year. The World's Biggest Pajama Party, started as an online challenge from Girl Scout Troop 8143 in West Virginia , to Girl Scouts all over the world, to benefit the Pajama Program. Bayshore Unit Managers Jean Watson and Sophia Lamberson hosted the event.
61 Junior Girl Scouts attended. We collected 48 pairs of pajamas and 24 books. My troop taught the Junior dance badge and earned their Bronze award with this project. Everyone had a blast!
