We are born into this world, and even if we are born with a silver spoon in our mouth this world comes with many hardships.
No matter how well off we seem to be we are still faced with things like the ever growing crime rate, sickness and high prices.
We live in fear that our children will not fall victim to violance in school, or become one of the many with an addition to drugs.
And we fear death.
But friends death is not A BAD THING.
If you know Jesus Christ and have a every day relationship with Him then you know that when you die you will be with Him in Heaven.
In Heaven there is no pain, no sickness and no car payments. Doesn't that sound like a wonderful place? Well then why are so many people in fear of death? I don't know about you, but I look forward to my death. NO! I am not about to do anything to speed it up, but when the day comes I will not fear it one little bit. I look forward to seeing Jesus face to face and being re-united with loved ones who have gone before me. I look forward to meeting people like George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. Other people like John F. Kennedy
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and ( ok call me nuts) Elvis. Just think of what we could talk about. And the good part is we have all the time in the world to do it. No busy office schedules to keep. No kids to soccor games and other after school activities. No shopping ( boy I hate shopping). We will never again have to worry about what's for supper (you moms will like that). And no more diappers to change.
SEE... death sounds pretty good doesn't it?
Here's something else to think about. Death only means you leave this world. Your life is not over, you start a whole new wonderful life in Heaven.
DON"T FEAR DEATH... GET READY FOR IT.

Last Sunday evening I attended a service at a local church. The Pastor asked this question. " If someone was to ask you to prove to them with out a shadow of a doubt that there IS a God, what would you say to them?".
I started to think. I know that I myself have had questions at times, and I wondered just "what" would I say to someone who asked me that question.
I myself believe everything started somewhere, for examplae, a flower started as a seed. So I always try to " go back".
Some say all life comes from the sea. OK, if that's true, go back. Where did the sea come from? Now go back, and keep taking it one step back until the only possible answer is GOD.
How did the Earth itself get here? It must have been God. I don't know about you, but I can't explain how all the stars got in the sky. I only know what my Bible tells me. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
When I look around me at all the wonders of this world, I know it could only be God who created them, so when asked to prove that there is a God, in reply I say " Prove to me there ISN"T "

When King David volunteered to meet Goliath's challenge to Israel, Saul was concerned about what David would wear into battle. In fact, Saul placed his own armor on David. But it didn't fit, and it would have proven more of a hinderence than a help in David's battle tactic. He was better off with out the king's armor. Carrying just his sling and five smooth stones. Why five stones when he was up against only one ?. Goliath had four brothers, and David was prepeared to take out the whole family. It turns out that David only had to battle Galiath himself ,and that with just one stone he defeated him.
You can read this story for yourself in 1 Samuel Chapter 17
In my Bible in (verse 4 of chapter 17 ) it tells that Goliath's hight was six cubits and a span or about 9 foot 9 inches tall, and David was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance ( verse 42). I have always found this interesting. A youth able to defeat a giant with just a stone from his sling. You might say it was a lucky shot, I say it was GOD.
God gave David the power to over take Goliath, and He will give you the power to over take your enemies as well. You may not be up against a 9 foot 9 inch giant, your enemy may be a drug or alcohol addiction. No matter what enemies you face, God can and will give you victory over them.

Do you feel like nobody really cares? Well, God cares! He knows all about you and He sends you this message.
What is a Christian? Are you a Christian? After you have answered this question, read the next 4 Bible verses. Then you will know whether you really are a Christian as thaught by the Word of God.
The Bible says: " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans chapter 3 verse 23.
Have you ever lied or taken anything that belonged to someoneelse? Then you have sinned, haven't you?
The Bible says: " For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans chapter 6 verse 23.
That's right, sin seperates us from God. If we die in our sins, we are eternally lost and forever seperated from God. But God offers another way. Since you now admit you sin, and Jesus as the way out, we can have eternal life free as a gift from God. This means we can not earn it by being good, or by going to church, or by baptism, or anything else. We simply receive it as a gift through Jesus Christ Gods' Son.
The Bible says: " But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God... John chapter 1 verse 12.
Suppose you had an incurable disease, and one day you read of a doctor who had discovered the cure for that disease. Let's suppose he offered to give this cure for FREE. What would your answer be - receive it and be cured, or refuse it and be lost? You can have faith that the doctor's medicine will cure you, but unless you receive it personally, you are still lost.
If your best friend knocked at the door of your house, what would you say to him? You would say COME IN wouldn't you?
Dear friend, the Lord Jesus is knocking at your heart's door right now. WILL YOU RECEIVE HIM? WILL YOU INVITE HIN INTO YOUR HEART AND LIFE? WHAT WILL YOUR ANSWER BE?

Here in the Unites States we have come use to a lot of things that we often take for granted. Our homes have running water and electric lights. We have beds to sleep in, clothes to wear and shoes on our feet. But did you ever stop to think how different your life would be with out these things? What if you woke up tommorrow and EVERTHING you own was gone, would you still praise God as Job did?
I have found that too many people put a value on material things. They have to have the BEST. If their friends have a big screen TV then they want one too, and will put thenselves in depth to get it. Funny, I don't recall ever seeing a hurse pulling a u-haul trailer behind it. When we die, all of our worldly goods ( toys if you will) go to some one else. We are not going to take then with us.
I think about people in other countries who do not have these things that we have and how their lives seem so hard to us, but you know what, maybe they are more Blessed than we are. They don't worry about keeping up with the Jones's. They don't have the 18 hundred dollar a month morgage payments or the over due credit card bills. They get by with just the very basics.
What if you had to give up EVERYTHING you own, your nice home, your fancy car, your 401k.. If everything you value was taken from you, would you still say you are Blessed?
If you are Born Again and a Child of God, You are Blessed. You are Blesses because Jesus Christ died for your sins, and because He lives, you have the promise that He will come to take you to be with Him in Heaven.
How Blessed you are has NOTHING to do with what you own here on Earth, it has to do with Jesus Christ.
So I ask you... How Blessed Are You?
LIfe Behind Bars
For most of us, life behind bars is something only seen by the worst of the worst, people society can not do anything with; so their answer to the problem is to lock them away in some tiny jail cell.
They have done things that society says is wrong, and they need to be punished for them.
That may be true, but in most cases incarceration doesn't correct the problem, it only makes it worse.
The daily life of an inmate is something much different than anything you see in a movie or on tv. Inmates face things that most movies and tv shows never talk about. If they do, they leave a lot out.
There's the food. In most institutions the food is prepared by highly trained staff directed by the lead person Chef Boy Ar YUK. Meals can be anything from a single hard boiled egg that is so cold when served that the yoke inside has turned a nasty shade of GREEN, and two slices of cold dry toast with NO butter, to, plain white rice ( also served ice cold) and some red stuff that can not be identified that goes over the rice. Don't ask, noone knows, and noone is brave enough to try it and tell everyone else what it is.
Tonight when you sit down to YOUR meal, think about someone incarcerated. You may not be eating a thick steak, you may be eating hamburger, but it's 100% better than what some inmates will be served. Inmates will think of it as a feast if they had a single McDonalds cheese burger. That "happy meal" you just got for your kids would be like lobster tails to an inmate. Most nights they eat packaged soups, because the meals are so bad. That's only if they have money to buy them that is.
Most institutions have a work program. Inmates are paid to work in the kithen, laundry, and do other jail jobs. They are paid only about five dollars a week for this. With that money theymust buy their toiletries and any other items they may need or want. If they receive no money from their families, this five dollars a week is the only money they will see, and they have to spend it very wisely. Envelopes and paper to write to ministries to request a Bible or Bible materials must come out of that money.

As you know our children will be returning to the class room this week.
You have all seen the signs and the bumper stickers to remind you to drive with care but there hasn't been one reminder to PRAY FOR THEM.
With so many changes in our school systems we need to pray HARD!!
Our children now must past through a metel detector to check for weapons.
They are not allowed to pray aloud in class or to tell their other class mates about their
faith in Jesus Christ.
They can not bring a Bible to class with them ( unless they attend a private Christian School).
God only knows what they will teach our children. The text books are all very different than anything we learned from as children.
If you have children in school PLEASE check each and every book they are given.
And EVERY DAY... PRAY over your children before they go off to school.
Lord Jesus watch over and protect them as they go on their way to school today.
Keep them safe from harm .

Friends: In these times of high prices on just about EVERYTHING from soup to nuts most
Americans have been forced to cut back on a lot of things. We don't buy anything unless we really can't live without it. We trade in that big gas guzzler for something better on gas.
We don't go out to eat as much because we just can't afford to any more. He have re-discovered what our stoves are for.
It doesn't look like things will every get better, so we just grin and bear it.
I don't know about you, but this make me long to go home. The Bible tells us that we will dwell in a place where the streets are made of gold. A place where there is no pain or suffering. A place where we will be re-united with loved ones who have gone before us. And most of all ... A place where we will see God face to face.
No man knows the hour or day that Jesus will return to take us His followers home, but we can rejoyce knowing that when our life on this earth is over our new life will begin in Heaven.
So when this life gets you down... LOOK UP!!
