The channel rules are simple, just to respect other users and the
channel
We expect ops to be freindly, chatty and polite (Greeting new people is
important)
Dont fight with other ops, if you have a dispute with another op please
take it into Private
and do not kick other ops unless they ask (to test scripts etc)
Try and remember to deop if yer gonna be away from the pc any length of
time so that the users
know who to go to with any probs
Polite warnings can be given to users for insulting behaviour or too
over the top language
(or very offensive nick) or any strange chat that is disturbing the
majority of (non idling)
channel users (we are a democracy, if every wants some one to stop
their line of wierd chat)
Ignoring polite warnings can lead to a warning kick or a ban
Bad language is tolerated to a certain extent as long as it doesnt go
too far or isnt insulting
other users (Unless its amusing to the person being insulted)
The chan can be set to moderated if things get out of hand for as long
as it takes (from several
minutes to all night), while the chan is moderated remember to voice
trusted users
Advertising other channels or forums is an offence, warnings can be
given if it looks like a naive mistake
and a kick and temp ban can be given for deliberate spamming.
Advertising other servers is a no no (Report advertisers of other
servers to an ircop)
Links to funny or important stuff can be pasted as long as they dont
advertise another chat or forums and are not too disturbing in their
content (mild tastefull porn or amusing bad taste is ok)
People can paste several lines of text relevant to the chat happening,
or to show some thing important
to them they wish to share, pasting pm's is bad manners and deliberate
channel flooding is a kick and
banable offence
The rules are not set in concrete and a certain amount of discretion is
welcomed
The female ops here do not need defending from irc idiots and are quite
capable of looking after themselves
Remember being Aop is not a policing position it is a caretaker
position...
Aops can be removed for the reasons below (Warnings will be given first)
Repeated unnecesary use of sexualy bad language
Insulting other ops (Take disputes to pm)
Kicking users for an ego trip reason
Insulting new users instead of welcoming them
