This piece of birch I very special it was cut out of a 10' round yellow birch tree which is very rare to find except for in old growth forests which you can not cut in. So this wood is very rare. the grain is old growth( the growth rings are very close together) and there are red mineral stains in the heartwood.

TURTLE SHELL MAPLE FORM W/ WENGEE FEET

This is a piece of turtle shell maple found in the swampland of souther NH. turtle shell is a type of mineral stain that happens to white wood near swamps and bogs. this piece has amazing turtle shell and figuring. the dark wengee of africa complement the white domestic maple of america to make a great addition to any ones home or gallery.

This is an amazingly figured piece of maple burl. It is extremely rare to find a piece of maple that is this figured all the way through. This piece of maple is made into a beautiful ern or lidded hollow form. The dark african wengee top contrasts beautifuly with the highly figured maple body. This is a beautiful work of art.
