Woodend Mural Project - Mystery Daffodil Fundraiser!

Woodend Spring Flower Show
The 2009 Show was held on 3 October 2009 and featured fabulous entries from professional daffodil growers, local garden enthusiasts and school children. Entries were well up on last year and it was delightful to see all the new entries, particularly in the photographic section and from Waikuku School pupils. The gardening and flower arranging talks were deemed excellent by participants and people enjoyed browsing the outdoor Woodend Market on this beautiful spring day. A Positive Vision for Woodend

The Woodend Community Action Group was launched in June 2007 following feedback generated by the Woodend Bypass information website www.freewebs.com/woodendbypass.

Residents indicated a need to see more positive initiatives developed in our area with the aim of bringing the various sectors of our community together. They wanted improved communication and access to information on local issues such as the Woodend Bypass, roading and the Pegasus Town Development. Many people also offered themselves as volunteers to do tasks such as copy and deliver flyers and provide other support activities. This clearly identified a need for a central point of contact to coordinate positive community initiatives, energy and ideas.

Our Key Objectives

To raise awareness and increase transparency of Woodend roading issues
To promote the safety and wellbeing of the Woodend community
To promote initiatives to develop community spirit in Woodend
To provide an open forum and assistance for Woodend residents to seek help or advice in suggesting changes for the benefit of the community
