Paul Porter

Paul is a native of the Southwest and has lived in the desert all of his life. This is where he finds his inspiration for his work. His style leans towards the traditional indian forms that were originally formed in clay. Paul has an eye for detail and form and his work is something to be admired. his work has and is being shown in art galleries in the southwest and west coast.

Sean Troy

Sean is the President of the Arizona Woodturners Association in his second term. He is also a member of the American Association of Woodturners, and Chairman of the Desert Woodturning Roundup, a national woodturning symposium held each year in Arizona.

He started woodturning out of necessity, making chess pieces for the exotic hardwood chess boards he made for his store. Tiring of the monotonous work of turning chess pieces, he looked for other forms of woodturning. Finding hollow forms and bowls much more enjoyable to turn, he hasn't turned a chess piece in over five years, instead, honing his skills on the other forms of turning.

Some of Sean's favorite styles of turning come from Paul Porter, Phil Brennion and Stuart Batty. All world renowned turners. His favorite finish is walnut Oil because of the look and protection it gives his utilitarian pieces.
