Wood County Flyers

Wood County Flyers 1st Annual Club Fundraiser

This is not your ordinary futurity race.  This is our chance, as pigeon fanciers, to help the next generation of flyers and to help bridge cultural gaps.  Wood County Flyers is preparing for it’s first season as a club and is working on promoting our sport towards the youth.

75% of our membership is under the age of eighteen and 90% are Hmong Americans.  For those not familiar with the Hmong culture, they are a very proud people from Southeast Asia who have been fighting for hundreds of years for religious and personal freedom. They helped the French and Americans during the Vietnam War and for this role they have been persecuted.

Our young members have shown determination and an avid interest in pigeons. They were involved in the 2007 season at the side of J.R. Hall and have attended pigeon shows, built lofts, and raised pigeons this year.

All proceeds of this race will help our club with funding racing costs, clocks for our young members, and further promotion to the future of our sport…our youth.

Please see the Prizes, Terms, & Contacts page and R.S.V.P your spot now.

Thank you for your time,

Wood County Flyers
