ABOUT MAGIC (Magick, Magik, Magek, Majik)

Magic, sorcery, and spells are the manipulation and influencing of people, places, objects, events, and physical phenomena by mystical or paranormal means. The terms can also refer to the practices of people who weild the power of the sorts.

Dictionary definition of "Magic":

"Any art that involves invoking supernatural powers."

Dictionary definition of "Spell":

"A verbal formula believed to have magical force."
"A working of magic to cause effects in people, places, and objects."




Theories of How It Works

  • Natural forces are at work which are currently undiscovered by science and may not be detectable at all.
  • Spiritual energy (possibly along side of "natural forces") take on their own intelligence and consciousness and can be invoked by incantations and offering. This includes deities of all sorts.
  • Elements can be manipulated by the will of the magician and/or by using symbols, objects, and scents representing the elements.
  • Manipulating ymbols can take on the quality of the subject they represent by magical spellwork.
  • A mystical power, such as mana or numen, exists in all things and can be contained in objects for magical manipulation.
  • A mystical interconnection in the cosmos exists that connects and binds all things, welll above and beyond the "natural forces".
  • A certain amount of restricting the mind during concentration or meditation can produce outcomes of the will.
  • The subconscious mind holds power beyond the physical and can be manipulated into physical phenomena.
