Update to follow after grading

Grading March 2009

Hiya Guys I havnt had time to put an update on here regarding the grading (or on anywhere else yet)  Marcie was on top form as always and it is actually quiet funny to watch the mens reactions when they realise how fast and powerfull she actually is.It was also great to meet one of Marcies guys who travelled down from Manchester/Birmingham or somewher like that.

Fantastic news  - everyone did very well and passed.  we also had a couple of very small junior stdents who just came for the seminar as they are not ready to grade yet - they really surprised me and lasted the whole day.

Malvern Eskrima Seminar October 11th & 12th

Last weekend  10 of the Dacayana Eskrima students and a couple of parents travelled up to Malvern to attend the seminar Marcie Harding the UK Representative of Dacayana UK had arranged.  The location was absolutely fantastic and the training itself was really intense.  Everyone who attended the course really enjoyed it and learned loads.  A number of the students also graded at the seminar:

Paul Huish - Red & Orange belts

Stuart Coats - Red belt

Beth Evans - Red belt

Dylan Evans - Red Belt

First for Wales - Dacayana Eskrima System Gradings

Sunday August 24th 2008 was an important event for anyone who is interested in the Filipino Martial Arts.

This was the date of the first Dacayana Eskrima Stick Fighting gradings to be held in Wales. The Dacayana

system is a fairly new one to Wales and has only been taught here for just under a year. The students are the first

to ever be graded in the system in Wales and amongst the six successful candidates were two junior students

 – Bryony Chislett Williams (12 yrs) who achieved her Red and Orange grades and Gwen Davies (14yrs)

who achieved her Red grade. Howard Taylor, Denzil Head and Caleb Huish were also successful in obtaining

both Red and Orange Grades.  Josh Gregory also achieved his Red grade.  The students had to test in front of

a panel of 4 Dacayana Instructors and Coaches:  Marcie Harding, Trevor Lawson, Nin Lashmar and Julie Williams.

The grading itself was held at the Glynhafod Workingmans Club at Glynhafod,  Aberdare which is the only venue

for the Dacayana Eskrima classes in Wales
