Hail!
The time for true adventure has come.
Prepare yourself to enter into the wonders and dangers of a new land, a continent
lost in an age long ago swept away, forgotten by the annals of time: The Furthreach. Who can say when the
kingdoms of this land were founded? Now nothing is left of these lands save a few fragments
and memoires, scribblings which tell of fantastic creatures, great armies, high magic, and deep faith.
Come, let us go forth in the strange forests that now appear before us.
Enter and read the ancient accounts of that now vanished realm, prepared over the course of decades by the excavations of the author. Take care to arm yourself well, dear guest, this is no place of easy faring, for dragons be here, but on he who is girded with the breastplate of righteousness, there is great promise.
Read samples from the intermundane library below, such as the famous compilation "The Gnome's Horde". Many of the samples are fragments that have been discovered over years of research. Some have turned out to be entire works of story, such as The Master of Planets Trilogy and The Bladetongue.
The Master of Planets Trilogy: Still in the process of creation, the trilogy tells the story of the monk Orbian who is fooled by a badly behaived party of forest dwarves to enter the enchanted intermundane caverns. There he must quest for the Staff of Prophets so that he may save his monastery from the apocalyptic powers that hope to destroy every sign of hope in the world. There is a complication however, as Orbian discovers that he must quest along side the very opponent of Faith itself: the Sorcerer Arizel! This selection is from the third book, which describes a meeting of Orbian with two would-be dragonslayers after he has returned transformed by his time in the underworld.
Stormscald: An elegaic poem of summer, inspired by Virgil's Georgics.
The Many Thieves of Xasbur: Young Prince Quodiun seeks the truth about his ancestors. He leaves the eastern fortress kingdom Ptur to join a band of thieves in the ruins of Hermopolis. In order to find the real murderers of his father the king, he must disguise himself. However a double treachery is at work, and he is endangered. Can the Many Thieves help him? Not before he drinks the weird venom of an Ataluran Silurijad.
The Katabasid of Nilus: A short fragment of epic poetry found as wrapping on a mummy in the pyramids of Gohha. It describes the great themes of life in the bronze age
The Book of Bloody Battles: Written by the great historian Olusius in the third age of Furthreach, this early medieval fragment describes one of the most noteworthy battles in age of the great Duke Ikonn when dragons were still found upon earth. This is the only chapter remaining from that book of battles.
The Oceanicon: Duke Ikonn's journal of his terrifying expedition to beyond the Northern Warm Sea. (under construction)
Scroll of Mercurius Yod: One of the most ancient writings left concerning the Furth. This unfinished tract by a heathen author is a valuable encyclopedia for those interested in studying intermundane cosmogony. Be careful however, for the writing is rather strange. Even I do not understand it!
The Gnome's Horde: The discipline of true magic has vanished from the world. What strange forces caused the city of magical scrolls, Nystol, to be destroyed by inferno? Let the Gnome take you on his journey, a journey into ancient wisdom gained during his one-thousand years of adventures in the enchanted underworlds. His strange assemblege of "furthlore" about Atlantean invaders, Hermius the Conqueror, the dwarf butcher Nergalf, the Elven wars, Neoplatonian Dragons, Centuars, and other stories in fabled kingdoms culminates in a dark revelation of ancient conspiracy. The gnome learns of their arcane doctrines, of the Nagamaud Amulet, and of their apocalyptic plans working throughout history. NOW IN PRINT!!
The Bladetongue Saga: The principle saga of the Furthreaches...Originally written in epic meter, dactylic hexameter, this ancient poem has been translated into prose for your enjoyment. Join nine grim heroes when their quest to redeem their reputaions turns into a surprising dragonhunt filled with intrigue and sacrifice. A transformative experience after the manner of Homer
Furth Encyclopedia: Confused about kingdoms, lore, and eld races? Make sure to check the Furth Encyclopedia compiled for your convenience. A link opening in its own window is provided on every page of reading.
