Congratulations to the national 2011 top safe mileage rider, our own, Shirley Garland Blackwell, who safely logged 50,545 miles during the contest period!
Shirley led our top 5 riders to a chapter championship award in 2011 also! Way-to-go, Northern Women chapter!
Our chapter has a
history of safe riding, as evidenced by many awards received
from the national headquarters (also known as the "Mother
Chapter").
Chapter awards were received in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000,
2001, 2002, 2008, 2009, and 2011. Awards for individual member
mileage were received by one or more members in 1995, 1996,
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011!
Congratulations to all the northern
women for riding many personal bests in the safe mileage
contest for 2011 and to our top five qualified riders: Shirley, Denise, Karen, Kathie, and Dianne.

The contest runs from November
1 through October 31. All rules on the official application
form must be followed for a member's entry to be valid.
Winners are announced at the "Winter Nationals" awards
ceremony. Each participant receives a pin for being a first-year
participant and an add-on bar for each year she participates
without an accident.
