Wittering

Wittering is on the Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire border.  It is located with the A1 on one side and the A47 on the other. Wittering has a Spar shop and a post office.  It also has a chinese take-away called cafe delight, a chip shop and a local garage called Casworths Motors(01780 784898).  There is also a new hairdressers and barbers called V&A opposite the post office on Townsend Road.  Wittering is the home of RAF wittering, the village comprises of a mix of Forces personnel and private residents.

Stamford is the nearest town, which is a beautiful historic market town 3 miles away.  Stamford has many great places to eat.  I especially enjoy the Balti hut for a good sit down meal or a take-away. Stamford has a beautiful stately home, Burghley house, home to the famous Burghley horse trials, a thriving arts centre and over 45 pubs.  Stamford has a Morrisons, Somerfield and Tesco supermarkets.

Peterborough is the next large town, around 13 miles from Wittering.(More information will be added shortly)

On a Saturday parking is quite hard to find both in Stamford and in Peterborough.  Much better on a Sunday and parking at the Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough is only £1 all day.

Wittering is covered by 2 main councils.

South Kesteven district Council and Peterborough City Council have loads of information on their sites, well worth a visit.
