How to make a Sweet Dreams Pillow
(Author Unknown)

Combine together in a bowl and crush:
1 cup Mugwort
1/2 cup Rose Petals
1/2 cup German Chamomile
1/2 cup of Sweet Hops
1/3 cup Lavender Buds
1/3 cup Catnip
1/4 cup Peppermint

Make your pillow by cutting out a 5 X 12 inch piece of your favorite fabric, then fill the fabric with your mixture and sew it shut. You may be able to make more than one pillow with this mixture! Sweet Dreams Pillows make great craft fair items, inexpensive gifts or presents to put into gift baskets. You can also decorate the fabric however you wish with a theme or sew lace and ribbons on it. Use your magick and imagination to create different styles of pillows but most of all don't forget to chant a little sweet dreams spell before using the pillow or giving it as a gift!

Making a Wand
Copyright © By Suzy

The purists will tell you your wand needs to be of a certain wood and the length from your wrist to your elbow. I don't think either one of those things matters. What matters is that you were looking and the Goddess put them there for you to find. You should not use them because they don't fit some book? Hogwash!

They are fine as is. You can peel them or not, doesn't matter. Actually, the lack of bark will make them more flexible, and insects can't get under the surface and damage it.

If you would like to make a traditional wax for your wand that preserves and protects the finish while offending insects, here is the recipe:

Put beeswax in the waterproof container that you want to keep the wax in. Set this in hot water, so that the wax melts. Remove from the heat source. Stirring the wax, slowly drizzle in about 1/4 to 1/2 as much turpentine as you have wax. Keep stirring until it has set up enough that it won't separate. It should be soft enough that it is a paste, but not so hard you can't use it. A teensy bit goes a long way. This stuff works well, if you look at the furniture that was treated with it and is hundreds of years old.

You can also add essential oils if you wish, for fragrance or magick, or to offend insects. Lemon offends insects, lavender, if mixed with the lemon smells like citronella, not really pleasant. Sage is magick. Bay offends insects and is magick. Now, I suggest you take little dabs of the finished wax, and put a bit of the prospective essential oil on it with a q-tip. You will find out very quickly if the result is a smell you like or not!
