For years we have been persecuted. Now, finally, it is time to pick up the broomstick, candle and wand again.
The thing that we all always told is (and I'm going to repeat it here because it is important) Witchcraft is NOT for showing off to your friends, getting your own back on your teacher (or the idiot who sits behind you in maths and spits gum in your hair) or for wearing black, looking cool and controlling the universe.
OK rant over, on to the best bit. Becoming a witch.
It can be really confusing starting out, but we all did it one way or another.
Some people are lucky, they have members of family who are witches. Those who are born into the Craft, have the help and support of their families, and their traditional magic and Books of Shadows (we'll come to them later) of their parents and grandparents to study.
But for those of us who have no one to guide us, the work and confusion of starting on the witches path can be quite scary. There are loads of choices to make and ways of doing things, so I'm going to lay out a few parts that may help you.
There are three things in the Craft that you must always remember and abide to. They are the rules, or laws, that we have to follow.

Evermind the rule of three, what thou gives out comes back to thee
Everytime you do something in the world, magickally or normally, Witches believe that it will come back to you three times stronger.
To have the knowledge of magic, to dare to perform it, to have the strength needed for magic, and to keep silent about the magic you do.
These are the witches laws. Its best to learn them.
