6/29/04 (i think) This is the first entry of the new news page. Im not sure where to start so i'll take it from this past weekend. The boys and I cruised over to the east coast to visit our good friends at THE COMPOUND.It's the home of BONY ORBIT RECORDS and it's like an old spanish style 2 story apartment building in a run down part of Cocoa that has probably 6 or so units. It has been taken over by the punks of Brevard County. Everyone who lives or hangs out there is involved with the Cocoa scene in some way..Everyone from the artists to photographers to promoters to the dudes that run the studio and the bands that record there. Its truely a self sustaining scene. The waters not safe to drink and I noticed you can't plug much into the walls without "Blowing a fuse." But there's plenty of electricity to power the amps, if in need of a late night practice.Theres a fire pit in the corner of the parking lot where most nights folks stay up to the early hours , listening to the train zoom by,drinking, smoking and talking about whats been done and whats next on the "To do list".

This weekend we were asked to play a show down in Melbourne (about 30 min. south of Cocoa). It was a two night "festival".There were probably 10 bands or so.Shane promoted the show at CLUB TOBAGO,which is a huge venue (with sticky floors and really bad tasting soda..REALLY BAD!!) that can easily pack 500 people or so..I dont think there were that many people there this time, because the band from England that was supposed to headline cancelled due to some bad dealings out in California or something.Never the less, it was still a good turn out and a good time.We also got a good first chance to sell some records. We moved quite a few this weekend.

We also got to see BONY ORBIT's new merch booth, holy shit its insane!! It has to be assembled by a crew inside the building where it is going to be set up.Its probably 10ft. tall by 20ft.long..I cant even explain it. Moving parts and lights, the whole thing is just crazy!!! We also got a copy of THE GREEN GOBLYN PROJECT's new CD.Its good!!! X-TAIN GOBLYN had a song mastered by MASS G.(the dude who works on SCREECHING WEASEL's stuff) for a semi new zine called AMP. The track is on the CD sampler that comes with the magazine.(you can pick a copy of it up at any HOT TOPIC anywhere in the country for like 3 bucks or something, its got NOFX on the cover. )He also based the rest of the mastering around that one track and picked up a few hints so the CD sounds really good, although it leaves you wanting more!!!

ROB got to listen to a track from THE OBSCENES upcoming CD, but didnt get a chance to get a copy. WAY TO GO ROB!!! So it looks like we'll have to wait to get the whole thing when its finished. Those guys just got back from touring the lower states.

The PINK LINCOLNS are now ready to master 1 of their 2 new records with BONY ORBIT. This should be a lot a fun. This will be their first release in in nearly ten years!!! Those guys have done so much stuff with LOOKOUT, VML, STIFF POLE, JUST ADD WATER, and the list goes on...

BRIAN BRANNON from J.F.A. just got the WISENHEIMER records we sent to him and he wrote back saying-"We're honored you guys chose to cover one of our songs and did a killer job of it!" He says hes gonna be sending us some J.F.A shirts and stuff.CANT WAIT!!! Brian's the man!!! Hopefully we will be able to work with them in the future with some distribution or shows...I have half a mind to set up the worlds biggest old school punk rock show ever...it would be......well you'll have to wait for the flyer!!! Check back soon.-JJ

7/4/04- We finally got to play SOUND IDEA in Brandon with BAD EATING HABITS and THE DIRTY SLUTS and huge thanks to all those dudes for making us feel welcome in their town.We really appreciate that!! That's what makes their town something great..Those guys really have something special over there with Bob and SOUND IDEA.We've been watchin' what local records come out of there for some time now, we see how they stick together to make things happen. Its fuckin awesome! I hope they keep that going!! We are looking forward to playing there again at the end of July. Also thanks to those who bought our records, and to that one guy who bought two of em'!!! And the other guy who went out to his car, came back 10 minutes later with a handfull of pennies, nickels, dimes, cigarette butts, lint and hair and paid for a record....WOW!!!  If you didnt get a chance to get one, Bobs got a few left inside the store..Thanks again!!! We'll see you soon. -JJ

7/7/04   The package came from J.F.A. this week. Inside were 4 shirts, some stickers and buttons. We about shit our pants! I don't know of too many bands that would let you cover their song, press it on to a record, pay for first class shipping to send you a bunch of their merch. And do it all for FREE!! Kids this is punk! Not only is it punk..but punk as fuck!! So Brian if your reading this, thanks a million! You are the man!!!

We also got a phone call from the PINK LINCOLNS,saying that they will be ready in two weeks to start mastering their new record. Chris B.also mentioned about kicking up some dust with this new record and possibly having us on the road with them. We should know more in a few weeks. Terry Godamnit is working out the details.

This has been a real crazy week for shows. We played in Bradenton last night and had a great time. We really liked the part where we got banned from ROCKAFELLERS. Its weird but me and Rob were talking on the way there about how this might be our last show at that night club. Somehow we knew. We just knew.

Here's my take on things. It's simple really. If people have to pay to see the bands, then pay the bands! Give us gas money, or give us free beer, or food, cigaretts, Something!!! Anything!!And at the end of the night don't tell us it was a free show when people had to pay to get in!!! Our van doesnt run on "free" gas and we are not covered by "free" insurance. You see they got us pegged. Bands don't usually last for more than a few years,so in a years time you might play the same club 12 times. Well you will probably get fucked 12 times befor your band breaks up. Then what? You end up putting something new together only to get fucked again because you're a new band and mabey you dont think you're worth much. I got news for you, you're at least worth a pitcher of beer! I remember a few years back, the same promotor(John D.) asked Rob a few hours before a show if we could help him out. He needed a band to open for THE INDEPENDENTS. Tickets were like 10 bucks and even more if you were under 21. There must have been 150 people in the club that night. Needless to say,we had to track that guy down for a week after the show, just to get paid a lousy 50 bucks. We will play free shows, when they are FREE! But when moneys being passed around don't be afraid to say,"Hey,how 'bout a little for the effort?" Someones got to take a stand and say,"Enough is enough!" The time has come. And for us, that time was last night! "We're not gonna line the pockets of half ass rock promoters and venues with the cash from ours!" Keep in mind, this is our take on what's been going on for a while. So figure out what's best for your band. Keep in mind, If every band stopped doing shows there,We'd own that club!!! We could call the shots!! Revolution,Revolution! So go get that beer, and we'll see you in the underground!!-JJ

(7/11/04) Sunday night we ran sound up at THE FLY. We also played a 20 minute set to a killer crowd. S.U.B.,DAVIDS BAR.,LOKI played among a few other bands. (8/01/04)(qd-193.ir.A) We played at SOUND IDEA last night and had a great time! We love playing there.THE DIRTY SLUTS opened the show up with their kick-ass style of hardcore that quickly warmed up the room. After we played,BIG FIST rocked out with thier unique blend of acoustic, mandolin and sometimes flute melodies. Chalk one up for originality. (11/18/04) We're back and the tour went extreamly well. This was the first time that touring didnt cost us any money.(most of the time we slept in the van at rest stops,or at other bands houses so we didnt have to sleep at hotels, exept the 2nd to last show, the club bought us 2 rooms at the RAMADA INN-we were all smellin a little ripe after not showereing for 11 days). The clubs all made sure both bands were taken care of(what?)

The van ran well thought the mountains, and gas prices were cheaper than they are down here. There is a new "whistle" sound the van makes but all in all we were surprised that we didnt break down.

In other news,we heard that Monday nights at the BRASS MUG has a tough/dead crowd to play too for there open mic night,...so we're thinking.... hmmmm...lets do a "kamakazi" set and see if we can hold there attention for a half hour or so(heh heh heh-suicide mission)..also the Pink Lincolns are putting together a show for DEC.4th in tampa with us and LAST GREAT HOPE(ex-NO FRAUD members).I'll be posting that as soon as its confirmed. Thanks to all the bands and people who show'd up for the NOV 14th show..ALSO WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SECOND GUITAR PLAYER(again!)

(11/19/04) Updated show page

(11/24/04) The BRASS MUG show went surprisingly well. After the CCR cover band and the TOOL cover band played, we woke the place up.Next stop....Country bars! Make sure you check out the "shows" page because somethings have changed. Some bands have been taken off some shows while others have been added.

(1/10/04) YES we are still playing!!! After the tour we took some time off to write new material. Actually we have embarked on a bit of a side project of sorts. JJ switched with Jr.(DOUG) to play guitar and sing.Jr's now playing bass while Rob remains playing drums. After a few practice sessions of "Trying to find the right sound that fits these new songs" weve decided that simply an acoustic/electric guitar, jazzy sounding drums and a slightly deeper bass tone fits the bill. This new material is far different than anything we've ever done and is sure to be a shocker.Should we dare label it "Retirement Rock?" eewww!

2/23/05 Updated show page.3 new shows coming up.

3/14/05 Finally an all ages show. Were playin' with FELIX AND THE HALF KRAUTS and T.B.A. Check the show page for details.

7/27/05 A new video of the song "Sweettart" was made by X-tian Goblyn and it is freakin awsome!!! im trying my best to find out how to put it up on the web site. The master copy is in Maryland right now getting duplicated by our friend Brian @ TUNA FOR SUSHI RECORDS.They should be finished by next week. If you would like a copy of it, contact me. Oh, and this song clocks in at a whoppin' 3 min. and 11 secs. HOLY CRAP!!!!
