About Us
Winsham Pre-school was established in 1984. The Pre-School is situated in the premises of Winsham School, moving from the Jubilee Hall in July 2006.
Sessions run five mornings a week from 9:15 until 12:15 pm. We also have a lunch club which continues after each session until 1pm (at an extra charge).
Parent & Toddlers group is held on a Wednesday at 1.30-3.00pm (term time).
Our Pre-School is registered by OFSTED, which ensures that we offer the highest quality care for children. We are a registered Charity and members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.
The Pre-School is run by a Committee made up from volunteers elected each year at an Annual General Meeting, mainly of parents/carers of children in the pre-school. The Committee is responsible for the general running of the Pre-School working to a Constitution set up by the Pre-School Learning Alliance. The Committee also undertakes fundraising events.
The majority of children who attend the Pre-School live in the village, but many come from the wider community.
This year we have sustained a healthy number of children on role. We are now full until the Autumn term, please see Nicky (Supervisor) if you would like to change sessions or increase your days now or in the forthcoming year. If your child is grant funded, you may use up to 15 hours per week (if we have space). Children are entitled to grant funding the term after their 3rd birthday.
What to Bring & Wear
Comfortable suitable play clothes and shoes are required. Pre-School sweatshirts and t-shirts are available, but are not compulsory.
If your child is toilet training it would be helpful if an extra set of clothes could be brought in, but we do have spare clothes on the premises.
If Your Child is Ill
Please notify us as soon as possible, and if you can, inform us when your child will be able to return.
Please see the 'Contact Us' page for contact details.
