Oh dear, the holidays are almost over and the new year almost here and I didn't even stop by to wish everyone who stops by a holiday greeting. I hope this will do. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I hope Santa was good to you, bringing you all kinds of goodies.

Who is Winona Rasheed? Have you heard of her? Well, this is the right place to come to

find out who this woman is.

 I am Winona Rasheed and I am a children's writer. This is where I will be sharing my books  and other things with you. I have been writing for years. There seems to be a thought always running in my head and some of these thoughts eventually turn into stories and books. Sometimes, I just can't help myself, when the word hits me....................I just have to write.

I have self-published three books, my very first attempt at POD (print on demand). I am very proud of these three books because I wrote them, I published them, and my daughter illustrated them. Wow! I have come a long way since the time my mother and I sat at the kitchen table and tried to write and submit something to a publisher. That was back in the 60's. That's how long I have been writing. But, look at me now, I finally did it! So, you see.............It Can Be Done, even if you have to do it yourself. However, being self-published wasn't my dream, my dream and desire was to have a traditional publisher notice me and want my work. And yes, that has happened too.  I have two new children's books published by a publishing house all the way in Australia, and these books are coming out on CD's.  See how perseverance pays off? I have my proof copies and they are wonderful. I believe children will love them everywhere.

 Today something remarkable happened to me, someone wanted to take my children's books, the ones that I self-published and translate them into French, so that children in other countries could read my books. How nice is that?  My children books in the hands of children all around the world. What else can a children's  writer ask for??? 

It has taken years for me to climb this ladder, but I am so glad I didn't give up. I am doing something that I love and that is producing healthy, happy, intertaining, remarkable books for our children, yours and mine.

I always say, "You can't succeed if you don't begin and when you do, never give up." You must always follow your dreams and in my case, that's writing and then seeing my work published. If I can do it.............you can too.  You just have to stay on the path. Are you where you want to be?
