"Even if we were to serve only one person, we are doing a good job."

The Wings of Peace is a non-profit organization that is committed to serving those in need every Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Glendale, Arizona.Founder and CEO, Louise Pennartz, along with all the other volunteers have dedicated countless hours to the Wings and are very appreciative of the support given by the various businesses and clubs who help when possible with donations of food and miscellaneous items. The Wings wouldn't be possible without your support.
We opened on April 4, 1995 with 14 volunteers and approximately 45 guests. It was the beginning of a free 100% volunteer and open kitchen in the Glendale-Peoria area. Wings has now been open for over 12 years and is happy to serve anyone who is in need of food, clothing, and a lot of TLC. We now have about 40 active volunteers and serve over 200 guests most Tuesdays. We have remained as an organization that operates by donations only. We have no paid positions and everything that is donated to Wings is given to the people we serve. Unfortunately we still are only able to serve one day a week. There are space issues and many Glendale City restrictions and so TUESDAYS are WINGS day.
Wings is now in need of donations of clothing, miscellaneous personal items, and money to help us continue to help those in need. The money donated helps to purchase all supplies that are needed to run the kitchen. We serve cafeteria style to have less waste of food. We serve punch, lemonade, ice tea, coffee, milk and desserts when we have them. We also serve the best hot soup in town as we are told by many.
The Wings of Peace serves every Tuesday from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Stop by to see what Wings is all about!
