If anyone had told me when I was younger, I would one day work at a Retirement Community, I would have laughed! I always thought I would be a school teacher, but I'll tell you one thing, I wouldn't change my life at the Williamsburg for anything! I could have never imagined all the pure joy I have experienced while working here! Matter of Fact, it's hard to call it work! Sir Winston Churchill said; "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give". That statement proves its self time and time again at Williamsburg. It's not just a place full of seniors living out their last days! It's a wonderful community of friends that help lift each other up everyday! It's a place where age seems to vanish, and it's a place of love. My grandparents died when I was young, and I never got to know them. I always wanted Grandparents! You will notice that I refer to the residents as "Grandfriends" because to me, each one of them is so much more than a resident, they are my friends! I am so grateful to all the families out there for sharing your loved ones with me! THANK-YOU!
This is Taylie. In August 2009 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She is the Great Granddaughter of two of our amzing residents! Taylie has been visiting the Williamsburg for years! She is so full of energy and a fun part of the Williamsburg Family! If you would like to know more about Taylie visit her website at: http://members.webs.com/MembersB/EditPage/www.tayliebug.com. You will see why this brave little girl has touched the hearts of so many people here! Taylie, our prayers, thoughts, and hugs are ALWAYS with you!
I know this sounds funny, but I LOVE these drinks! They make them in "sugar free" flavors! They are great and refreshing. These are perfect for Grandfriends that don't feel good either, and need something to drink without making them feel sick! If your loved one isn't drinking enough, I highly suggest trying these!
