What's Going on Lately

04 Feb 04

Everything was fine until 9pm last night. Hotel calls and says they want me to change rooms so they can do some work on mine. Ok, fine.

They move me into a smoking room where the window won't even open so I can air the place out. It doesnt have a lamp or a dresser, the mini-fridge is half the size of my previous mini-fridge, so its like a super-mini-fridge that I have to live out of for the next 5 months, and the AC/Heater is broken while its 20 degrees outside.

Im stuck in a shitty ass town, in a shitty ass state, in a shitty ass hotel for the next 5 months.

Arkansas fucking blows.

      Happy Thanksgiving to me....

Then I report to Yokota AB, Japan by 30 Jun.

Here's another cool picture of Yokota:

Just call me Goose.

Adventures in Cooking

I was feeling kind of adventurous when I went grocery shopping today, so I decided to buy stuff to make sushi from scratch. It actually wasn't that bad. Now if I can ever learn how to cook rice so it's not crunchy....

Drop Night!

September 14th

So I've been assigned to fly C-130s out of Yokota, Japan! That is so rad. I'm going to Japan!

Yokota is located about 25 miles north of Tokyo and a short drive away from Mt. Fuji, which I fully plan on climbing while I'm there. This is so random, I never expected to go overseas for my first tour. Wow. SOOOOO much stuff to do. I have to sell my truck and get my bills and stuff in order before I go. Luckily, I still have about another 6 months in the states before I have to leave. I'm pretty excited though. Im really going to miss my family and friends, but I think that I will very quickly figure out how to take Space-A to get back home pretty often. And since we havent been allowed to take leave during nav training, Ive got a lot saved up!

The mighty C-130 Hercules - my airplane.
