The Wii has been out long enough for us to give you fans our final thought of the Wii. Since almost all the Wiitendo staff own a Wii, we can finally give a true review on the Nintendo Wii. Most of you fans already own one (if you guys are really hardcore), and probably are playing it as we type this review. Out on November 19, 2006, the Wii packed a punch at the stores, selling out instantly across the United States. Along with that, the Wii game, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, was sold along with almost every single Wii sold, which no game has ever done. The Wii came, and definetly conquered, but is it as great as we anticipated? Read the thorough review, and our final thoughts. Read the thorough review below.
Extras: Below, you'll find the Zelda TP Official Soundtrack, available to listen to, and download! This is exclusive, and only 70,000 copies were made, along with the collector pack. Enjoy.
Wii Channels?

We are pretty happy about the very sleek layout of the Wii channels. Nintendo's main objective was to implement the look of TV channels, which they did right-on. The channels are very user friendly, and right now, up to 48 channels can be added. Those extra channels are for the Virtual Console games you buy on the Wii Shop channel, including the Opera Web Browser.
Whats nice, is that you can move around the channels to where ever you please, by holding the A button and B button at the same time and move the desired channel to an empty block. This feature is great for customization. The sound effects are nice, and are interactive.

The Photo Channel is sweet. You can view J-PEG images through your SD card. The fun thing about the Photo Channel is, that you can play around with your pictures, by putting them in puzzle mode, and drawing on them. This is a definite plus.

The Mii Channel is just amazing. You can create characters that resemble your family members, or any of your favorite sports celebs. The Mii Channel has many options, from the width, and heigth of your Mii, and too eye style, the shape of the Mii's face, to rotating the eyebrows, mouth, and even putting a mole on your Mii's face. You can use the Mii Characters in games like Wii Sports, and more upcoming titles.
You can send messages to your friends with either their Wii number, or their e-mail address. This feature is nice. Also, whenever you recieve a message, the blue light on the disk drive lights up, until you turn off your Wii.

The Wii Shop Channel, still growing, is where you can buy classic games with your Wii Points card or Credit Card. Many people are buying the Wii because of the fact of the Virtual Console. Games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, and more classics will return on their debut on the Nintendo Wii. This is a huge plus for the Wii.

Another amazing channel, is the Forecast Channel. It's just incredible. When you first start the channel, it will ask you the time, and where you live. After the setup, everytime you go to the Forecast Channel, it will show you the current weather conditions for your area. It also has tomorrows forecast, and a 5-day forecast, pretty amazing! But it's not just your area! You can also go to Globe mode, and go to anywhere in the world and check out other countries and their weather. Sometimes though, it won't show the 5-day forecast for cities other than yours (except the U.S.), but still shows the current conditions, and tomorrows forecast. This channel rocks, and is very accurate, for it was raining outside pretty hard, and the forecast said the same. It is updated every morning and night for the 5-day forecasts. This channel is another huge plus.
More channels are to come, like the News Channel, and the Opera Web Browser, so wait patiently! For the channels, we give it a nice perfect score --

Wiimote?
As far as the accuracy of the Wiimote, and the motion sensing, it is pixel-perfect, just as Nintendo said it would be. There were no
problems playing games like Wii Sports, and Zelda, for it was perfect. Swinging your sword in Zelda is magnificent, and perfectly utilizes the Wiimote and it's capabilities, without spoiling the fun of a real Zelda game. In fact, the Wii makes games better. Playing Wii Sports, and the very fun tennis game is super addicting, and kept some of my friends playing just tennis for over 5 hours straight! And Zelda, pointing the Wiimote to shoot arrows, and use other weapons, is very natural, and makes Zelda better, yes, better than it already is! We found barely any lag in the controller (only when the battery power of the Wiimote reached the lowest), and the battery life is very acceptable, for us, running for 40 hours, which is 10 hours more then its supposed to. The motion-sensing is absolutely incredible, with no lag, and the nunchuck and Wiimote is very comfortable in your hand, and is the perfect size. The buttons are in a perfect place, and the A button (the most used button for us), is right there for your thumb to press.
We sometimes got irrated, like in games like Zelda TP. When we wanted to view the map of the place we were (like a temple, or area), we had to literally look at the Wiimote, and find the 1 and 2 buttons, to go to the map. But still, you barely ever need those buttons in Zelda. In Excite Truck though, the 1 and 2 buttons served as the gas, and turbo buttons. The buttons are in a perfect spot, because in Excite Truck, you have to play with the Wiimote held sideways, which makes the 1 and 2 buttons right at your thumb's fingertip. After playing with the Wiimote for about a week, I felt as if video gaming was supposed to be this way -- with motion. It feels very natural now, and video games are enhanced to the limits with the Wiimote.
Many reports around the web show that there is a problem with the Wiimote's strap. This is mostly the Wii owners problem, by not using the strap right, or playing with wet/greasy hands. When you have wet hands, you should wipe your hands. This is not too big of a problem at all, for Nintendo even has a free replacement of the strap on their website.
With all said about the Wiimote, we give the Wiimote a perfect score --

Graphics?
Why do some people think that graphics are everything? All you need is great looking graphics that will appeal to anyone! The Playstation 3 includes HD quality graphics, but doesn't deliver the addictive gameplay most gamers desire!
The Wii accomplishes the graphic standard of today, still lower than it's competitors, the Xbox 360 and PS3, but shows the graphics very well. Take Zelda for instance, it's very beautiful, and the sound quality, and graphics can easily be compared to the PS3's HD graphics, and theatre sound quality. It's all up to the games to deliver good graphics. Red Steel is beautiful, despite it's terrible gameplay, that needs work. Red Steel is an example of a game that can't be great with just graphics. My eyes sometimes deceive me as look at the water in Zelda. It's absolutely realistic.

Look at the screenshot above -- this is when Link arrives at the mini-boss stage in the Temple of Time. What if I told you this was a PS3 game? You would believe me, because the graphics are beautiful! It doesn't matter if the specs of a video game system exceed a computers -- it all depends on the game developer. If a game developer puts good effort into a game, they can create a great graphical presentation that can easily be compared to the PS3 - like Nintendo has done with Zelda, and also, what Ubisoft has done with Red Steel.
But seriously, games like Wii Sports have pretty bad graphics (even though it's still nice), and most games look exactly the same as GameCube games (not even mentioning N64 games....Wii Sports). But games like Wii sports have proven that you don't need awesome graphics to enjoy a entertaining game. In video gaming, 40% of it is graphics, and 60% is gameplay.
Still though, the graphics are great, slightly better than the original Xbox's, and definetly looks good. Games like Zelda make the Wii's graphical reputation keep up, and Wiitendo gives the Wii a 3.5/5 for graphics --

Games?
The Wii probably has the greatest launch line-up, compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 launches. With 27 Wii games available at launch, including Virtual Console games, like Super Mario 64, people had no problems picking their games.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, was the most popular game on launch, and is still as of today. The game is so incredible, because of the "out of your mind" effort, by the Nintendo Zelda Team. The game is just beautiful, and every move link makes, and his expressions, are very realistic. The game utilizes the Wiimote very well, having link swing his sword with the motion of the Wiimote. You can get away with barely moving the Wiimote, still having the same effect, so you won't get tired. Fishing is a game of itself, and is very fun. When you finally hook that Hylian Bass, the Wiimote shakes vigorously, and you must keep reeling, by moving the nunchuck attachment in a circular motion. Fishing is very fun, and addicting. Zelda is definetly a must have game for the Wii, and a good reason to get the Wii. Excite Truck is also very fun, getting a rating of about 8.5 average on most review sites. You really feel as if you were turning a steering wheel of a car! But I know what some of you are thinking - "that's dumb, why would you want to actually steer the Wiimote to control the truck?!" - well, cause it's more fun, and entertaining, just ask us, we've played all the games that were mentioning. These controls will become natural, and will feel like normal video gaming, except more fun.
Wii Sports comes with the Wii, as most of you already know. This game is extremely addicting, and is very fun. The Wiimote works perfectly with all the games; Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, and Golf. The Wiimote
shows no lag at all in this game, as with all the other games. When you swing the Wiimote in Tennis, the player mimics exactly what Tennis move you do, whether it's a backhand or forehand swing, or just a serve -- you really feel like your playing tennis! Baseball is also a fun game. One player can pitch, and the other can be a batter. When being a pitcher, you may throw a curveball, screwball, spliter, or fastball just by pressing certain buttons while swinging the Wiimote in a pitching form. Batting is challenging, sometimes a little too challenging, but we still enjoyed it! Bowling is a little hard, sometimes inaccurate. For some reason I always throw with a spin, for maybe that's true in real life! Golf is also cool. Boxing is competitive, but you'll need an extra Wiimote, and nunchuck attachment to play 2 player. The other games are growing to be popular too. The popular ones are Rayman: Raving Rabbids, Red Steel, Madden 07, and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. The games are incredible, some showing amazing graphics. Zelda combines the classic gameplay, and beautiful graphics we expect, while not ruining the classic feel with the new Wiimote, but improving it. With a great lineup for the Wii's future, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and more, we'll have alot of great games till' then. The games are amazing, so we give the Wii games a perfect score --

Sound Quality?

Nintendo has created many games in the past with beautiful sound effects, and songs. These songs paticularly come from the game series - The Legend of Zelda. The Wii delivers the standard of today in sound quality, and effects.
Zelda TP, has already become an instant classic, with some songs in the game that already will be in our memories, mostly the Hyrule Theme, and Kakariko Village Theme. We've included the whole soundtrack to listen to, enjoy! Download the whole soundtrack in the ZIP file below, free!
The music in most games are good, but not perfect. Zelda has amazing songs, just like expected, but can't create a perfect score for the Sound Quality. Most people that own a Wii, are critizing that the speaker in the Wiimote has horrible quality, which is partially true. Whenever you swing your sword in Zelda, it creates sometimes a rather annoying sound, that is inconsistent. Sometimes it doesn't even work, which is pretty rare. Yes, you can still turn the speaker volume all the way down, but why didn't Nintendo add a better quality speaker, that can utilize gameplay better? The speaker, in our opinion, is crap, sorry Nintendo. But still, the in-game music rocks, like the above songs. Nintendo, the in-game music is amazing, like you proved in Zelda, but your piece of crap Wiimote speaker really bothers us fans; we still like the game music, so we give the Sound Quality a score of --

Presentation

The Wii is small, and has a slick design, and goes with any entertainment setup, and fits on any TV stand. The disk drive lights up blue only when updating, recieving messages from other Wii owners, or if your playing in the dark. Some people wanted the light to always be on (like me), but oh well! The Wiimote itself looks fabulous, and is very sleek. The button layout is nice, and works very well with any game I played. The sensor bar is nice and small, so it doesn't look like it's even there (my friend didn't even know where it was). The channels look beautiful, and rumble when you hover over a channel.
I like the fact that when you want to play a game, and go to the disk channel, and mini-clip plays with beautiful sound (like Zelda), and makes you want to play it more as you press start.
The box you unwrap is a light blue color, and holds all the Wii stuff in a compact way. All the rumble effects and sounds the Wiimote makes are great, but not perfect. For presentation, we give the Wii presentation a great score of --
