Wicket The Hedgehog

Huffy Puffy Is No More!

I believe that Wicket and I have really bonded in these past few days.  He longer huffs and puffs at me like he did before.  He does a little hiss and that is about it.  I keep telling him that he is all talk and no show.  And that is the truth.  Before if I would rub his forehead he would hiss.  Now he loves it.  He flops  on all fores and just lets me rub his forehead!

The Liner and Things!

Well I was just playing with Wicket when my dad came in with this inside our cereal box.  So I was like that can't be for me.  I ran up and grabbed the box to check.  To my amazement it was!  I had a hard time opening it.  It was wrapped in carpenters tape, and I was so excited that my hands were shacking!  I got it all out.  He even got a little rubber ducky with his bath blanket.  He got a hedgie bag to carry him in.  So I went to take pictures, but I only got 3 before the camera died.  So I hope you all like the pictures!

Pictures!

Well the photo album is up with pictures of him.  If you are wondering what is on my hand, it is a glove.  When I pick him up he is puffy and hisses, and then I jump and he jumps again.  So I just pick him up with a glove.  Then he uncurls and I take the glove off.  Enjoy the pictures!

He Is HOME!

Thought I would just pop on here quick to say he is home!  It is 2:36 here, and I am tired.  I think Wicket is too.  I held him for a while.  Their is a storm outside and he doesn't like thunder, or any loud noise really.  But before we left to go to Kansas, we hit a deer!  The deer only broke the AC.  But it died.  So we had to go to Kansas with no air.  It got up to 112!  So we froze water bottles for the mice down to Kansas.  Once we got their we stayed at a motel.  It was nice to get into air conditioning!  Then we picked him up the next day at 11:00.  I was sooooooo nervous you couldn't believe it!  But everything went well.  That is until we left.  10 minutes out driving he pooped everywhere and was stepping in it and had his face full of it.  So we stopped at a rest area to clean it up.  That is when I found out he had a dark side!  He would not let me pick him up.  He hissed and puffed his quills out.  So I outsmarted him and grabbed a glove!  Ha I said and picked him up.  He didn't like being cleaned up but it had to be done.  Once he was clean I held him for a couple minutes.  He was totally fine.  So I took the glove off.  I have now found out he is huffy when you first pick him up.  I don't know if it is just the way he is, or it is because he doesn't know me yet.  So now when I pick him up I use a glove.  Then once he uncurls I take it off.  But right now he is checking out his new home.  I will post picks later today!

In Dreams of Hedgehogs - August 15, 2007

Okay, I had the weirdest dream ever!  It all started out normal and all, then I went to check my cage (like a regularly  due in real life) and I saw a hedgehog.  And it was WICKET!  I was like woe I am not supposed to have you yet, but I picked him up and played with him.  Went and sat on the couch and he watched TV with me, and everything seemed to be going perfect!  Then he got iffy like he had to go potty , so I put him back in the cage, and all his quills just fell off!  I was like OMG call the vet.  Then all of a sudden he sprouted new quills, but every single one of them was white!  So then I was all like wow....I always heard when the quilled that they got grumpy and all, but he was really good.  Then my mom came and woke me up, and I told her and all and she said, "Brandon, I think your thinking to much about this!" and then she left the room.  Crazy story huh?

The Steps In Bringing Him Home - August 12, 2007

I have finally found my hedgehog.  I will be bringing home the little guy on on August 27!  It's a little gaunt to pick him up, but he is totally worth it!  He is a male hedgehog, and I believe the color is silver, but I am not totally sure, and it can change during quilling.  I am going to be picking him up after vacation to the black hills.  So instead of going back to Minnesota I will be heading down to Kansas, and then back up to home!  He is from PogStarHedgehogs, and she has been very nice and helpful!  I would totally recommend her  if you are wanting a hedgie of your own around kansas.  Here is a Pick of the little guy!  Once he is home I will post more pictures of him, and his totally AWSOME blue cage!
