Hello! Welcome to Why Believe In Jesus?

This site was set up to explain Christianity and what it means to be a Christian using simple and easy-to-understand terms. Much of it is descriptive and explains Christianity from a Christian's point of view. In this way it is hopefully ideal for any research you may be doing for a Religious Studies or Theology essay, or just for your own interest. Other parts of the site are designed to explain how Christianity can change your own life if you want it to. It's an amazing relationship with God, and had led millions upon millions of people to lead happy, fulfilling lives.

Unfortunately I am not perfect and I do make mistakes, so there may be some errors on this site. I would also like to make it known that parts of the site are very much my own opinion and are beliefs which are not necessarily held by all Christians. That said, the fundamentals are all that really matter. All Christians accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Well anyway, it doesn't matter who you are or what you believe - this website has been designed to be used by anyone! I realise it can be a daunting thing to discover the workings of a religion, but this site makes it fun and interesting to engage in the ever-growing faith of Christianity. So, whether you are in need of some info for an essay, or are just curious as to what Christians actually believe, then check out this site and I hope you find the answers you're looking for!

Generally this site will refer to Christianity as a "religion" since it is a way of living which is associated with God. However, it is argued that in many ways Christianity is not a religion in every sense, and even that Jesus was against religion. This is because religion is associated with legalism and achieving certain things to be right with God or to get to heaven. Christianity is not like this because you do not need to be able to tick boxes to get to heaven; you just need to believe that Jesus Christ has already taken the punishment you deserve, and therefore ticked all the so-called boxes for you! So in that respect Christianity is not a religion so much as a faith.
