A message from the ButtMonkey
Hey! I'm the Buttmonkey! I am pleased to announce the first ever Buttmonkey Awards! We are a video award site for Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Lost, Veronica Mars, Bones and Tru Calling. I can hardly wait to see all the wonderful videos that you fans have made for me. My crack team of highly qualified judges are also very eager. We will watch your vids over and over (with snacks) and decide who we thought was the best, and fling poo at the rest (not really:). So step right up for Round 16, and you can spank my butt for luck! And be sure to check out my "About Buttmonkey" page to learn more about your new friend, the Buttmonkey. And don't forget to check out my "World Tour." Next stop, Who Knows.
We are now taking submissions to Round Sixteen. We will close the round when we have 25 submissions. Go read the rules and then submit your video. Good luck!

So sorry to do this, but we are going to have to put the site on hiatus for a while. Once we've had time to reorganize we will be back up with Round 16 awards and reviews, and we will post the Round 17 submissions at that time as well. Thanks for your patience.

I forgot to mention that we did not have enough entries in the last round for Best Episodic, so Andrea's "Black Tangled Heart" will be judged in this round in that category. At this time we could use some more entries in Best Comedy.

Awards for Round 13 are up. Congratulations to everybody. This was an excellent round. We loved all the submissions. Please let us know what you think of the awards and reviews by signing our guestbook. We didn't have enough nominations to judge for Best Comedy, so Morgan's vid will be moved over to Round 14.

Since it is getting close to Halloween, we would love to see some scary vids to get us in the mood. So we have a special "Challenge" this month. Send us your scariest vid. It can be from any fandom or movie, just make sure it scares the pants off of us (except Buttmonkey, of course, the hippo stole his pants.) You can submit 2 vids each to the challenge round. These submissions do not count against regular round submissions. Use the Halloween Round Submit form to send us your submissions. But do try to hurry, I would like to have the awards up by Halloween, so we need to get your submissions in quickly.

Sorry that the awards still aren't up. I apologize for the delay. I won't bore with the details but there have been computer issues that have caused the delay. I hope we can get the awards up this week. Once these computer issues get resolved, I am hoping we can get back on track and get the awards up sooner. If I had any talent at doing graphics I would be able to take the slack while Brainhiccup works out his computer problems, but I totally suck at graphics, so we are at his mercy. Maybe if we sling some poo at his computer we can scare it into acting right.
I want to thank all of you for being so patient the last few weeks. You guys are awesome!

Judging is completed. This was a very difficult round to judge. There were so many really good vids this time. So if you didn't win an award this time, please know that it isn't because we didn't like your vid, it was just a really tough round. Great job to all of you!Brainhiccup has his computer back up today. Against all odds they were able to save it. So hopefully he will be able to get the awards made soon. Look for them this weekend, possibly.

Round 11 is now closed. Judging will begin this week. Our gifted award designer no longer has a computer. The motherboard is completely shot. So it will take a bit longer for us to get awards up for the next few rounds until he gets a new computer. In the meantime he will use mine on the weekends when he's not working. Sorry about this, but it just can't be helped. But we will do our best to get the awards posted just as soon as he has them made.
Due to this computer situation, we will not be accepting nominations for Round 12 until judging is completed. Hopefully that will keep us from getting too backed up. So look for the submit page to open back up this weekend, most likely.

Judging for the Best of the Best round is completed. Believe me when I say that this was the absolute hardest round to judge. Every video deserved an award. It was really fun to watch all of your awesome vids again. Keep in mind that we did not do reviews this round as we have already reviewed your vid in previous rounds.
We are opening Round 11 for submissions now. The submit form is back up, so start submitting away. Please stop by the rules first, as we have made a couple of slight changes, that are highlighted in red on the rules page. One of those changes is that we are now accepting vids for the show Bones. We would love to see some Bones vids this round.
Lastly, Buttmonkey Awards has won 2 new awards from Creative Creations Awards. They are "Most Original Site Name" and "Best Specialized." You can see them here: Site Awards

Awards for Round 10 are posted. There were some really great vids this round. Great job vidders!
We will now begin judging in our first series of the Best of the Best. Any video that won a "Best" award in the first 10 rounds will be judged. That means we have A LOT of vids to re-watch so please be patient with us as this will take a bit of time. But we are real excited about this and can't wait to get to judging.

Round 10 is Closed! We are going to take down the submission page for a little while. After we judge round 10, We are going to immediately Judge our first Best of the Best round! We are really excited about this! It is hard to believe we have done 10 rounds in 3 months!!! You all rock so much! Your vids have been nothing short of spectacular! The best of the best will be one of the hardest rounds we have ever had to Judge! Each category will get a winner and a runner up! Each person that won an award for Best in a category will be judged. We will not be Judging R/U winners, that is just way too many vids to have to judge at one time. So if you won a Best award in any catagory of the first 10 rounds then you qualify to be Judged for BOTB! Good luck to all the vids in round 10 and all the vids in BOTB! Although our thoughts are on Buttmonkey's recent disappearance, we are trying to remain focused on the judging. It's what he would want. I would sling some poo around to honor him, but my heart just isn't in it.

We here at The Buttmonkey Awards do not do something like this often, but every now and then we may feel the need to show some extra Buttmonkey Love to a vidder. So we have made a small token of our appreciation for a vidder who has impressed us with their work:

Also we had 2 vids sent in that were YouTube vids. We can't and won't accept anymore vids that have to be viewed online. It is one of the rules. One of the vids would not work for us this round. In future rounds use Megaupload or Yousendit for your vids. You may contact us if you have an alternate way of getting the vids to us.

I have 2 announcements to make. The first is, our very own Whoisnorml has just finished his new video. It is a Serenity vid to the Theme from Star Wars. I think this is one of my favorite vids by Whoisnorml. The way he let the music tell the story in this one is really awesome. Go check it out here: Serenity
The 2nd annoucement is for a new vidding community forum called Reverie. I believe the forum was started by Katie and Aimee. I've seen a lot of my favorite vidders posting over there. So go join in the fun.
