As the wife of a deployed soldier, I know what it is like to be overwhelmed with pride and fear. John, my soldier, is in Iraq fighting in the War on Terrorism. I don't think that I have ever felt such pride in my life as I feel when I think of the men and women who have fought and are fighting for our great Nation! I am a young army wife without much experience with deployments. This is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through in my life. I have recently found an incredible support group. John is in central Iraq with the 2 BCT or 2nd Brigade Combat Team with the 2nd Infantry Division in 2-17 FA. He has been in Iraq since September the 4th. His unit deployed from South Korea in August and arrived in Kuwait to continue training and get used to the weather before heading to Iraq. I talk to him as often as he can, but that isn't always as often as I would like. His unit is a field artillery unit doing infantry work. Basically they have been patrolling the streets of Iraq to defeat the insurgents. I pray for all the men and women who are serving this country. They, as well as all the families waiting for their return, are HEROS!!!
I LOVE YOU, JOHN! COME HOME SOON!
