A Mention on the “ARGNet Cast”

This site, well not this site exactly, was mentioned on the latest edition of the “ARGNet Cast” (click here to listen). Some interesting questions were raised and those concerns will be addressed on this site in the next couple of days.

So many games, so little time... welcome to my solution

When I first got interested in the "Alternate Reality Gaming" community some years ago there was one question that always seemed to pop up every now and again on the Unfiction Forums - "I am new, can you tell me what a good game would be for me to play?"

That was in late, 2002. Now here we are some 5 years later and the question is still being asked. So, the time has come for someone (ie., me) to answer that question with a site... this site. To me, the biggest problem that I have faced when going onto the forums to find a game was not the lack of information available, but the over abundance of information that was available. It was so hard to read through 8+ pages (some even a lot more then that) of topic discussion to get to the story in order to determine whether or not I would enjoy this kind of game.

It is because of those two reasons: 1) to answer the age old question: "What is a good game to play?" and, 2) to make is easier for someone to find a game that they might be interested in playing, that I decided to create this site.

If you are a player or puppetmaster who would like to step forward and give a synopsis of any "Alternate Reality Game" or "CF" that is currently being played by all to enjoy, please feel free to drop me a line and I will be sure to post the synopsis on this site. Comments and suggestions are also welcome.

Marketing

As you are probably aware, this is a brand new site with a somewhat new idea. Over the next few weeks I will be implementing a small marketing campaign to help spread the word about the site and its purpose.

My goals are:

1) a mention on the "ARGNetCast"
2) contacting puppetmasters and players of currently running games in order to acquire story synopsis
3) posting the site name in my signature on as many "ARG" related boards as possible
4) become a community member on as many "ARG" related boards as possible
5) contribute to board/chat room discussions
6) sponsoring such sites as unforums.com and argn.com
7) contacting other "ARG" related sites about a possible banner exchange program

As you can see I will be busy over the next couple of weeks in the hopes of getting this site noticed by the community so that this site may deliver the potential that I believe it has the ability to.

We'll see how it goes.
