GOALS

A vision becomes effective only when it is translated into action.
Goals define action which result in spacific acnievements.
To move from vision through goals to results takes divinely directed action.
ujebsters defines a goal as an object or end that one strives to obtain.

Goals are:
'Tangible - not abstract
Communicatable - not improvised or fuzzy ideas
Achievable - not dream world thinking
Quantitative - not immeasurable
Define your vision with goals.

After goals are defined, set priorities.

The way to set ycur priorties is to first write down all the things that you want to do. When you have that list, ask yourself this question: If I could only accomplish one thing on this list, what would it be? liJrite #1 by your answer, ^hen go through the list a second time and ask the same question. Put #2 by your second answer. Continue this process until you have them all numbered.

After you have prioritized the things that you want to accomplish, decide what it is going to take to accomplish it. Ask yourself these questions:

Do I have enough time to do this?
Do I have enough money to do it?
* Do I really want to do this?
Is my heart really in this?
Is God leading me to do this?
Do I know how to do it?
If I need help, do I have that help?

The problem with goals are that you have a nice set of goals, but nothing is done to accomplish them, Work needs to be done to accomplish them. This is where the rubber hits the road. Are we willing to work to accomplish the things that we want to get done, or are we satisfied just to have the idea to do it? In the Oid Testament it was commanded for the Israelites not only to have a day of rest once a week, but they were also told to work six days a week. That was not eight hours a day either. Many times they worked ten or eleven hours a day. This added up to sixty six hours a week.

At this point decide how may priorities you want to do. With God all things are possible but God led Paul to say "This one thing I do . . " Phil. 3. Don't try to do too many things. It is better to do a feu things well than to do many things half way.

Now decide what it is going to take to accomplish each goal.

PLANNING

You must come up with a plan for each goal. Before God created the world He had a plan for salvation. Titus 1:2 "in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began," Christians frequently are not wise builders. To be succesful we should build according to the cocfes or rules. 1 Cor. 3:10 "According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each on take heed how he builds on it." If you have no plan, you shouldn't be,trying to build. Paul said that he buffeted his body and made it his slave that he would not work in vain. 1 Cor. 9 He did not run without aim. 1 Carl 9 It is essential that planning be done in times of prayer with aur Lard Jesus.

You can't shut God out of your planning and expect God's blessing. — God has a plan for ycur life. Eph. 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand thgt we shoul walk in them."

Questions to ask when planning.

What are we going to do?
How are we going to do it?
When are we going to do it? (scheduling)
With whom are we going to do it? (personal requirements)
How much is it going to cost? (budgeting)

The potential for success is in direct proportion to the time you take in defining how you are going to achieve your goals, with a calendar estimate how much time step one will take, ^o the same far each step, then yau will know when you will be finished.

How much is it going to cost? Jesus said in Luke 14:28-30 "For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calcuate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, spying, "This man began to build and was not gble to finish.'"

Look at the costs of each step to find the total cost. Refine your goal if your casts are too high. Take small steps of faith.

STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION

Strategy is the planning. Your plan is your blueprint for implementation.

Implementation is action steps carried out to achieve a goal.

Evalution is the appraisel of the results. It is used ta counteract the possibility of deception or deficiencies. God may be leading you to alter your plans. Be willing to change if the Holy Spirit leads.

Prv. 16:9 "The mind of a man plans his way, but tha Lord directs his steps."

Are your actions going according to plan?
Are your actions accomplishing your goals?
Are your goals fulling your vision?

If the answer to these questions are no, revise and try again. Ask uQd for ujisdom. James 1:5,6 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Sod, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for th2 one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by tha wind." Matt. 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, anu you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you."
