A message from Calvin "Butch" Mendel, Assistant Director...

.:June 17, 2005 :.
TODAY WE SOLD $640 worth of tickets at the main credit union. Thanks to Roger Parrish, Duke Todd, Tim McMahon, JD Miller and Johnnie Williams---good work guys. With the monies I collected from other sources, that makes a grand total of $1000 turned in today!!! I think this puts us at a point where EVERYTHING WE COLLECT FROM THIS POINT ON WILL BE CLEAR PROFIT!

All the food has been donated and will be delivered to Ricky Woods Thursday (6-23). We still need some auction items. Bring them Wednesday night to the meeting at Jax Grill 7pm Shepherd / I-10.

Oh yeah, Duke just got a new bike and we will see it then.

Donnie should be there with his. He is returning from Montana as I write this note.

See you guys Wednesday!

.:June 12, 2005 :. Today we sold 17 tickets at Rooster’s on 1488. Thanks go out to J D Miller, from Red Knights, for this effort.

We will be at the main credit union Friday June 17 from 9am until 2-ish---hope to see you there.

.:June 11, 2005 :. We had a very productive meeting today. Members turned in $680 in raffle tickets.

Today we paid off the sportster, completely, and we only owe $1700 on the ATV.

There is a good possibility it will be paid off today, after Donnie Mccomb and Karl Schafler sell tickets in Belleville.

From this day forward, it should be clear profit for the event!

Thanks to all members WHO HAVE WORKED HARD TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS!

Committees were formed by the following volunteer (these are the people who make me very proud to be associated with the Red Knights and Wind and Fire clubs:

Bucket Brigade: Maria Delgadillo and Susan Johnson

Fast Dress: Michelle Watterson and Laveta Parrish

Tug of War: Johnny Williams and Rick Watterson

Motorcycle Obstacle Course: Dickie and Kirk from Red Knights

Fire Apparatus (antique and Modern: Kirk Toliver and some folks he will recruit

Bike Contest-American, Metric and People’s Choice; Butch Stone, J.J. McGarry, Steve Brooks

Raffle ticket Booth: Rodger Kendricks, Joe Reyes, Frank Taylor, Adrian Dinges (Red Knights)

Sign up table at Mancuso’s : Bob Royal and J.D. Miller (both from Red Knights), Roger Parrish

A new contest was voted in:

Bug Splat: J.D. Miller and Roger Parrish

Each bike rider can purchase (for $1), any amount of bulls-eye targets he/she wants to .All the money goes to a 50-50 split pot(just like at the union meetings) The idea is that the each person pays $1 for each target and places the target anywhere on the bike. After arriving at the Tin Hall the person who has a “splatted bug” closest to the center of the bulls-eye, gets half the moneys collected.

Denise Mann is going to make the signs for each event (these will be placed on the tables on that morning when we set up for the event. She will also make 100 t- shirts with the logo on the back and flashover 2005 on the left chest. She will also make the trophies for the first place winners of each event

ONLY the first place teams will get t-shirts for their entry fee. The members today at the meeting voted to sell the rest of the t-shirts for $20 each. The membership voted to have 100 t-shirts at the event. We will ask Denise to make that amount.

WE ARWE ASKING FOR EACH EVENT COORDINATOR TO BE AT THE TIN HALL AT AROUND 8AM TO SET UP YOUR AREAS FOR THAT DAY. This will give you time to get back to Mancuso if you want to make the ride

L E T ‘S M A K E T H I S T H I N G W O R K !!!

Roger Parrish gave us some information about the Wind & Fire Cruise in February 㤎.

Michelle Watterson was nominated and voted in unanimously as the secretary for the club.

Calvin Gadberry said he wants to try his hand at web-mastering(?) I spoke with Lori and she is Ok with that. She will help him transition into the position.

I was brought up that our web is pretty hard to get to so the members present voted to purchase our own website.

Rodger Kendricks will pay for ˝ of the first year, the other members said they will provide the rest.

Gadberry will work on that.

The meeting adjourned.

Flashover 2005 is right around the corner. Please, we need all the HELP we can get. Come spend a enjoyable day with your club members and eat a lot of BBQ, play games or just chill out. Try to be at TIN Hall at 8AM so we can arrange all events. You'll still have enough time to make the ride from Mancuso's. With your help, the work time frame should only be a couple of hours. We still need auction Items, live & silent. Any questions or would like to help, call Donnie McComb-281.330.5906, or Calvin Mendel-713.816.6868
And don't forget....You could be the WINNER of a new Harley or Honda ATV...if you bought a ticket!!
