OUR HISTORY
...........................................................
The Houston Chapter, #16, was established
on May 5, 1998 by Houston firefighters Lloyd Butch
Stone, Steve Williams, Wayne Waters, Bob Tabor and Pasadena
firefighter Jimmy Chaudier. We also have members from the
Stafford, Pasadena, La Porte, and Shell fire departments.
Houston is the largest chapter with 114 members from 33 different
cities and 2 countries.
In 1998 we started a burn run to raise money
for a childrens charity, Camp Janus. Camp Janus is a
specialized camp for burned and injured children. On August
2, 2000 we lost a member and brother Firefighter to a motorcycle
accident in Wray, Colorado. In his memory, this ride is now
known as the Lonnie Kerr-Camp Janus Burn Run.
Our burn run is the 6th official burn run of W&F MC.
On September 1, 2004, Roger
Parrish, Glen Reddin and
Butch Stone of
the Houston chapter and Trey Lillich of the Lone Star chapter
met with the President of the Galveston Bandidos (Knucklehead)
regarding the wearing of our "Colors" on the Island.
At
this time, the Wind & Fire patch is welcome at any time
and a new chapter for the Galveston area has been established.
We are a laid back bunch of people who enjoy
the camaraderie of our fellow firefighters, ride our Harleys
and get evolved with our youth.
OUR MISSION
...........................................................
Wind & Fire MC is a non-profit
organization; no one gets paid. All monies used for the operating
costs of the club is generated by our members; we have no
chapter dues.
Wind & Fire MC Houston has selected to
focus our charitable efforts on the Camp
Janus Burn Camp located in Burton,TX. The camp is operated
for children from the age of 5 to 15 years, who have sustained
a burn injury. Since 1997, our members have participated in
an annual run departing from Houston, TX for a day of one-on-one
interaction between our members and the campers while raising
funds for the camp. The event name was changed in 2000 to
the "Lonnie Kerr-Camp Janus Burn Run" to honor a
fellow chapter member who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
