DESLEY McDONALD

Desley resides in her hometown of Ipswich (Qld). She is one of 10 children & her love of singing came from her father & grandfather (Careless) who performed Musical Theatre. With a zest for Country Music, Desley joined Coal City & West Moreton Country Music Clubs in 2002/3. With a willingness to learn & her easy going nature she was immediately accepted into the local Country Music fraternity.

For 4 years Desley was a regular guest artist at Desree's Lake Cooroibah Country Music Jamborees at Noosa North Shore Retreat (Qld).

These were 3 day weekends that ran 4 times a year for 15 years. Here Desley worked with professional musicians & performed on shows with top professional artists such as Tamworth Gold Guitar Award Winner Evelyn Bury, Honky Tonk Piano man Peter Horan & N.Z. Gold Guitar Award Winners Michael King & Steve Sparrow.

In 2005 Desley was a member of Desree's "Aussie Showcase" that toured N.Z. for 2 weeks. With other members of the group and Kiwi acts The Rangiora Trio, Barross Country Duo, Ted Yaxley, Singing Nana, & "Kiwi Story Teller" Dusty Spittle, she performed at Smokey & Lorraine Marshall's Old Time Country Music Festival in Christchurch.

These days Desley has a busy schedule performing at Aged & Nursing Homes, Gospel Shows, Senior & Community Functions as well as guest spots for Country.Music Clubs.

Desley's CD is guaranteed local FM airplay as well as NZ & internet radio coverage.

The COTTAGE IN THE COUNTRY is a Queenslander Style Residence located at Kholo Gardens, Riverside Drive, Kholo.

The Kholo Botanical Garden is one of the jewels in the Crown of Parks developed by the Ipswich City Council. The Cottage was previously located on the banks of the Bremer River at The Terrace at Nth. Ipswich & was the residence of the Manager of the Nth. Ipswich Woollen Mills. It was relocated to Kholo Gardens as part of the 1988 Bicentennial Project & now stands near a 100 year old Church. Both the Cottage & Church have been professionally restored by the council & are available for Community use as a Reception Centre & Church. These gracious buildings overlook Pine Mountain bushland and the Brisbane River.
