IMPORTANT NOTICE OF
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

THE CLUB’S 2009 AGM WILL BE HELD ON

AT THE BROWN COW, BURRS, AT 20:30…

All paid-up members are welcome to attend.
It’s your chance to have your say and to get involved
in the running of YOUR club.

The club continues to meet outside every Wednesday evening throughout the summer. Unless we decide otherwise, we will to meet at Burrs from 18:30 onwards, aiming to get on the water by 19:00. However, we will occasionally venture further afield and this will be announced on the forum in advance

This year we are asking newcomers who are complete beginners to attend on the first Wednesday of each month, so these will be at Burrs – any prospective members please get in touch using the email link at the left to make arrangements. Existing members of any standard can of course come to any Wednesday evening meet.

We are still running one weekend trip each month. In recent months we have paddled the River Washburn and the Dee at Llangollen and a well-attended club weekend away in June saw lots of us on the Ure in Yorkshire. Plans for the next couple of months are fluid due to assorted holidays, but something will definitely happen. This is being sorted out on the forum as I write so keep an eye over there.

The calendar will be updated when things are a bit more concrete but as always, plans change at the last minute and the latest information will always be on the forum

The club has added another couple of boats to the existing fleet for use on outdoor meets, and anybody who needs to use a boat or any other club kit must let us know well in advance EACH TIME you want to paddle - we need as much notice as possible to organise things. Remember that (subject to availability) paid-up members can hire boats & kit for the whole summer season, so this can be more convenient (and economical).

Don't forget the two YouTube channels showing video of club events. Carl goes under the name of Cowheaders, where there are a few examples of his headcam footage, while Steve has the Keawyeds in Kayaks channel. Watch these for more additions, and if you have anything you’d like to add, please pass it on (it will be fully credited to whoever filmed it) or even join YouTube yourself.

If you have anything for the gallery or video which you'd like us to put on YouTube, please pass it on. If any members don't want their images posted on the web, either as video or stills, please let us know so we can make sure you're edited out of any pictures or footage.
