The band boosters finished up our final concession stand of the season with BB&T yesterday. It's been a challenging year trying to meet our responsibilities to BB&T in terms of staffing the stands for our dates, but we got through it and our newly formed BB&T committee is working hard to solve the issues that came up. We had fewer than 20 parents trying to cover everything this year and that just isn't enough, so we are casting a wider net for the next season by inviting parents from other non-profit organizations, both in the school and out, to join us. So far we've reached out to drama, chorus, the wrestling team, and the band boosters at Fort Lauderdale High School. If you have any connections with other non-profit groups please tell them about this program, and if they would like to join us, have them send an email to [email protected] so they can be added to our BB&T mailing list.
Finally, I would like to send a shout out to Jarrett Seldin, the concessions manager at BB&T. He worked with us and was very understanding, even finding fillers for us when we came up short, and I am grateful and I am also determined not to let him down next year. BB&T provides us with a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for our band program and I want to continue this great relationship in the future! We are, after all, the closest high school to BB&T, it's meant to be!! Go, Panthers!!!
With many thanks,

Our marching band presented a stellar performance of their 2016 "Changes" show at the FBA competition and scored an overall SUPERIOR rating, which is the highest score! Congratulations to Mr. Tracey, the percussion and color guard teachers, the volunteers and, most importantly, all of the students for the hard work you all put in to make this happen. GO, WILDCATS!
It is my desire that every member of our band has an enjoyable and successful experience. I believe that if we concentrate all of our energy in the same direction, we will achieve impressive success in the coming year. I hope that you have an awesome band season and an outstanding school year with the Western Band Program where we strive for “superiority” in music education.
