Are you interested in nominating your Stallion or your progeny for the 2010 Golden Bonus?
Please contact the Registrar Mrs Debbie Owen for further information.
AIMS
To promote the breeding, selling and showing of Palomino foals and to encourage new members.
To fill the gap currently existing where the demand is for riding horses.
To provide a cash incentive to justify the buying and keeping of a young halter horse.
To stimulate the demand for Palomino foals which will automatically increase the demand for Stallion services.
To create the need for top quality youngers competing for the "Bonus" which will improve the standard of stock bred.
STALLION OWNERS
As mare owners are made aware (through advertising, word of mouth, etc) that prize money can be won with a Palomino foal, more people will be interested in breeding to a nominated stallion.
The demand for quality foals will increase, as people who do not wish to breed a mare of their own look to purchase a winning prospect, the foals that you as a breeder produce, could escalate in value.
If your stallion only covers one mare, it could be enough if she produces the winning foal, and let's face it, any individual could do it.
You may feel the outlay is more than you can justify at this time, that of course is your decision and choice, however, this promotion is already up and running with stallions nominated to date. SO DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND !!

WAPA Annual General Meeting September 2008
President’s Report
It was my privilege to have been elected as the Club President for the show year commencing September 2007 to September 2008. The new club committee this season is a very motivated group of volunteers who wished to place the palomino horse into the limelight of the general public, as the previous years the show scene of the club had some problems with getting workers to help organize show and run them
Luckily this season everyone came out to help and we had some fantastic sponsors who helped make our two shows a great success.
The first show of the year was a classification day held on the 9th December 2007 in the morning where horses colour’s were at their best, with a great turn out of past and new members. In the afternoon the club held a Free halter showcase where the new members could show their newly registered horses in a show ring and pick up some handy hints and see the standard of showing that is in the club. The old members who were there, helped out the competitors with helpful hints and suggestion on showing their palomino’s, appendix, foundation and sporting horses.
This years State Championship show saw the largest turn out of palomino horses and ponies for many years. The quality of the horses and competitors was a credit to the association with large numbers in all sex classes. The sporting horses were a little low in numbers, but it is something for the club to come up with an incentive program to bring the non Palomino’s back into the show ring.
The sponsorship for the championships had all classes winning prizes and the champions winning garlands, rugs and feed products that were donated by our generous feed merchants from the surrounding districts. It was fantastic to see our golden horses under saddle. And with classes holding over 10 horses beautifully turned out for the judge to inspect.
All in all, the 2007/2008 show season was a credit to the association and the members who are very enthusiastic about their beautiful horses.
On a personal aspect, this year saw me having fun showing my stallion She-Oak Shining Priority at the State Championships and I look forward to showing some babies this season and hope I will see past and new members this year.
I have had immense fun and pride holding the position of President of the WAPA for the last season and hope the new incoming President carries on with the great work this committee has achieved.
Yours truly,
Susan Benthien
