Welcome to the West Augusta Guard web site.  We are a reenactment group portraying the men of Augusta County in the 5th Virginia Infantry.  The WAGs were formed in the Fall of 2007 when a group of friends decided to get back to the roots of reenacting... honoring our ancestors and the men who fought during the Civil War and having a great deal of fun.  We are dedicated to educating the public about the life of the common soldier through living histories and participating at numerous schools in the area.  We are affiliated with Longstreet's Corps and attend numerous events with them.  Please feel free to stop by and browse our site, if you have questions feel free to contact us.
