Where we play. 

Winchester College. The courts are located on Kingsgate Street. In term-time, access is normally possible via the entrance on the east side of Kingsgate Street between the QEII Theatre and JCR - see the map. The map helps to find the College in Winchester. The Courts themselves, looking at the map, are almost opposite the East end of Romans Road and at the foot of the 'T' of Kingsgate Street, as written on the map.

Club nights.

The season runs from the start of the Autumn term (September) to about mid-April. The club meets every Tuesday evening with play from about 1800 to 2115. The new season 2009-10 begins on Tuesday 15th September. All staff and boys at Winchester College play without any charge. The fees for adults are £4 per evening and £1 for students. Changing and shower facilities are available and thirsty players adjourn after exercise to the Wykeham Arms!

Fives clothing and equipment.

Typical sports clothing, such as for tennis or squash but not necessarily white, is worn. The club can provide gloves for beginners but it is normal to own one's own gloves. Balls are provided - much effort has been expended on finding a durable ball with adequate bounce and our balls are imported from France at a cost of about £8 each.

Membership.

We have over 50 members with an average attendance on a club night of about 20-24. Members include boys from the college, students from Southampton University and enthusiasts from many a mile around. There is no annual subscription - just the evening fees.
