Hi  This is me.

I live in Haydock, St Helens, North West England.  Any of you interested in horse racing will have heard of Haydock because of the Race Course.

I started to paint just over two years ago.  I had a traumatic period in my life and my Councillor advised me to take up a hobby.  I saw an advertisement for a Local Art Group so went along to find out more.  I have never looked back.  Brian who is the leading Artist/Founder of the Group made me feel very welcome as did all the members.  I explained I had never done any Art before, this did not deter Brian from giving me all the encouragement I needed to get me going.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian for all his support and for giving me back my lost confidence.

My painting has become more than an hobby to me, it is an escape.  I find myself immersed in my work, one day I can be on a tropical beach another in the countryside, it is the best feeling.  I have even exhibited some of my work and received good feedback,  I have sold a few pieces also (that's a bonus).  I have included  a couple of links on this page to my favourite web sites, I have met some lovely people here and gained some excellent tips for painting with all different mediums, these sites also give you the chance to let other artists see your work and give some good critique to help you on your way.  I have found both of these sites invaluable.
