WENDY ROBIE
Actress

Giving credit to an amazing actress:

This site is dedicated to one of the best actresses in Hollywood.  Wendy Robie.  Best known as eye patch wearing Nadine Hurley in the tv series, 'Twin Peaks' (1990-2), Robie is also known for her strong roles and amazing stage talent.

Born on October 6, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robie always had a love for acting.  Being a fan of Shakepeare since very little, Robie began performing on stage in school.  Her family moved to a ranch in Northern California and Robie grew up there.  After earning an English Literature degree, Robie headed to Washington for stage work.  It was there that Robie auditioned for Twin Peaks and got the part as Nadine Hurley, Robie's most famous character of the popular early 90's show.   After 'Twin Peaks', Robie starred in Wes Craven's 'The People Under The Stairs' opposite Everett McGill (who also played her husband on 'Twin Peaks'),a horror movie about an insane married couple who kept kidnapped boys in their basement.  Robie starred as the vicious woman called 'Mommy', another role Robie was born to play.  After 'People Under The Stairs', Robie and McGill teamed up once again as husband and wife on the Twin Peaks's sequal, 'Fire Walk With Me'.   Robie then took time off from acting to raise her daughter and teach English at a local college in L.A.  Over the years Robie kept busy as a teacher yet couldn't keep away from the spotlight.  She had parts in movies such as 'Vampire In Brooklyn,' 'The Glimmer Man,' 'Devil In The Flesh,' 'The Dentist 2,' 'Attic Expeditions,' and 'Lost Voyage'.  Robie had also made many television guest appearnaces in shows such as 'Sister, Sister', 'Party of Five,' 'Magnificient Seven,' 'Any Day Now,' 'Quantum Leap,' and 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'.  Robie's career not only as an English teacher but as an actress was in full gear.  Robie is now an associate art director of 'Will & Company,' a Shakespeare troupe that performs multi-cultural Shakespeare adaptions in L.A. schools.  When not in L.A., you can catch Robie performing on stages all over Chicago once again amazing the audience members with her talented perfomances.  In Chicago she is very well known.  Robie's most recent play, 'Bold Girls' is currently playing at the Next Theatre in Chicago.

Info on Nadine Hurley(Robie's famous character on 'Twin Peaks'):

Nadine Hurley lost her left eye in a hunting accident and now wears an eyepatch over it.  She is married to gasoline station owner, Ed 'Big Ed' Hurley.  Nadine is a lonely housewife who becomes obsessed with inventing silent drape runners.  With the help of her husband, Nadine realizes her invention works and heads to the patent office.  Her life shatters when her invention is rejected and she finds out Ed has been having an affair.  With no one to turn to, Nadine decides to end it all one night when she attempts suicide by overdosing on two bottles of prescription sleeping pills.  Although she doesn't die, Nadine slips into a coma.  When she awakens weeks later, Nadine is a changed person who thinks she's a teenager all over again.  Trying out for the cheerleading squad and getting a crush on a cute teenaged boy, everyone realizes that Nadine has lost her mind.  Nadine stays in a hypnotized state but she notices she's losing her husband, Ed.  In the end, Nadine comes back to normal and must face reality:  A divorce and her own loneliness.  We really don't know what becomes of Nadine in the end.  But I think she and Ed get back together(I hope so).
