 This site is dedicated to one of the best actresses in Hollywood. Wendy Robie. Best known as eye patch wearing Nadine Hurley in the tv series, 'Twin Peaks' (1990-2), Robie is also known for her strong roles and amazing stage talent.
Born on October 6, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robie always had a love for acting. Being a fan of Shakepeare since very little, Robie began performing on stage in school. Her family moved to a ranch in Northern California and Robie grew up there. After earning an English Literature degree, Robie headed to Washington for stage work. It was there that Robie auditioned for Twin Peaks and got the part as Nadine Hurley, Robie's most famous character of the popular early 90's show. After 'Twin Peaks', Robie starred in Wes Craven's 'The People Under The Stairs' opposite Everett McGill (who also played her husband on 'Twin Peaks'),a horror movie about an insane married couple who kept kidnapped boys in their basement. Robie starred as the vicious woman called 'Mommy', another role Robie was born to play. After 'People Under The Stairs', Robie and McGill teamed up once again as husband and wife on the Twin Peaks's sequal, 'Fire Walk With Me'. Robie then took time off from acting to raise her daughter and teach English at a local college in L.A. Over the years Robie kept busy as a teacher yet couldn't keep away from the spotlight. She had parts in movies such as 'Vampire In Brooklyn,' 'The Glimmer Man,' 'Devil In The Flesh,' 'The Dentist 2,' 'Attic Expeditions,' and 'Lost Voyage'. Robie had also made many television guest appearnaces in shows such as 'Sister, Sister', 'Party of Five,' 'Magnificient Seven,' 'Any Day Now,' 'Quantum Leap,' and 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'. Robie's career not only as an English teacher but as an actress was in full gear. Robie is now an associate art director of 'Will & Company,' a Shakespeare troupe that performs multi-cultural Shakespeare adaptions in L.A. schools. When not in L.A., you can catch Robie performing on stages all over Chicago once again amazing the audience members with her talented perfomances. In Chicago she is very well known. Robie's most recent play, 'Bold Girls' is currently playing at the Next Theatre in Chicago. |
