Wedding Day Beauty Secrets

Having been a part of the bridal industry for over 15 years now and the beauty industry for 20 year I felt like it was a great time to share my bridal beauty secrets with brides everywhere. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and like many have been greatly affected by hurricane Katrina, so in the immediate days following our great tragedy I have put together this incredible book of beauty secrets every bride will need when planning for their special day.

Over 15 years ago I started traveling out on location to do hair and make up for brides, bridal parties and mothers of the bride,etc,  I have seen just about every situation you can imagine.  I remember arriving at a French Quarter hotel at 5 a.m all 9 girls had to be ready for 7:30 a.m pictures and I tell every bride who has a contract with me to be ready on time to start once I arrive.  Well, this particular morning I arrived at the hotel and knocked on the door more than 3 times and got no answer.  I took out the contract to check room number and cell phone number  and to my surprise the door opened and a young teenager said, " hi everyone is in bed still but they are all still dressed from last night.  I entered the room and put the lamps on , opened the curtains and  the story began to unfold............... without blinking an eye I successfully prepared 9 girls hair and make up for them all to remember.  How I go it done is where all my secrets come in to play.

The next wedding I learned various styles of juggling from a mother of the groom  who left my chair to go to the brides room to say good morning to her surprise she had shared her pre wedding night with another man.(not her groom to be) DISASTER YOU THINK , WELL, think again!!!  The one wedding where the bride finally gets to the altar and turns to thank everyone including her maid of honor for making out with the groom to be the night before, ......... I was on call for that one. On many of these occasions I have helped with more than hair , nails, and make up. Raining so hard in New Orleans I have performed my beauty services everytime we have had a hurricane evacuation, so I have learned  great strategies due to weather conditions, my best kept secrets. Unbelievably girls have called me once they got home and told me they took there hair down that night or the next day and it staying with out the pins, music to my ears!!! So with all that said I am offering to help other brides have a very successful wedding day all the way around, from beauty to beyond!!!!!! Remember some of the simplest services prove to have the greatest effects on the outcome.

I have been a hairdresser since I got out of highschool over 20 years ago, married to my highschool sweetheart for 19 years, and four beautiful children later my life has changed because of my wedding day beauty services and the support of my family.  Eighteen months after my fourth child was born , I was diagnosed with a rare life threatening blood disease. I was first told what I had was not curable!! I went through 6 months of harsh cancer treatments and ended up with a blood clot to the brain. Once the blood clot was dissolved, I had to have surgery to try and gain some control over the disease. It worked, while I am not cured nor will I ever be I am told I should have no active problems since the surgery. It was previous to my diagnosis that I began my hair and make up business.  I went through a terrible depressed state accepting I had this disease and wanted to see my daughters and sons get married so I ........ began booking weddings as soon as I got out of the hospital, had surgery on a monday did a wedding on that saturday. It brought so much joy to share in such a special day with all of my brides , it was and is great therapy for me to keep my hope up that life is good even when things go wrong and that when things do go wrong there is always a positive way to help the situation out. After two years my father in law was diagnosed with a terminal illness that landed him in a nursing home and for 5 years we were his only family so we took care of him on a daily basis. He passed away two years ago in april .  Then hurricane katrina happened last august and we lost our house,it has been a very rough year rebuilding and still i continued to do my weddings, thank goodness I still had my work with hair and make up . Rescheduling weddings for everyone has been very crazy , sometimes I do 2-4 weddings in a weekend under all circumstances. Fema trailers have been fun, the pictures are cute and it has made history!! So while my family , my wonderful husband and i have come through so much  so blessed, I have been doing an awful lot of reflecting and writing lately.  I wanted to thank all of my brides for the last 15 years for helping me ( and they had no idea of anything) through my tough times in life and giving me such joy of sharing their special day with their families and friends. This now is why I want to share with every bride out there some very special secrets to help their planning days and actual wedding day a wonderful one , no matter what hurdle my come up , there is a secret to correct anything on your day!!!
