We Care provides one-time financial assistance to residents of Benton County, Oregon for urgent situations when
- no other help is available from public or private sources, and
- it appears they will be able to manage successfully after a single assist
Churches, other organizations, and individuals approached for assistance refer the requests to the Community Services Consortium (CSC). The staff at CSC are fully familiar with public and private resources, and are experienced in directing those in distress. They will ask relevant questions and with the client's permission, talk to landlords, creditors, employers, etc. CSC can determine which sources of assistance are applicable. We Care receives request primarily from CSC.
Our partnership with CSC discourages duplication, waste, and fraud. It encourages long-term solutions and ensures that funds are applied for the most urgent situations.
