I support Animal Welfare but not animal rights. I do not support or recommend house rabbit or rescue organizations who oppose responsible showing and breeding of rabbits or organizations and their members who make incorrect and/or inaccurate statements about rabbit breeders solely because they do not agree with a lifestyle and belief different from their own.
My rabbits are pets
first then show animals then breeding animals. I take the welfare of
my rabbits very seriously. My rabbits normally will not have more than
one or two litters a year. We breed quality not quantity. My rabbits
are my babies. I love them with all of my heart, and I would NEVER
intentionally endanger their lives.
"As a responsible breeder, I refuse to accept responsibility for creating pet overpopulation. And I do not buy the illogical argument that the birth of a healthy, wanted purebred litter displaces shelter animals. If you raise two happy, healthy children who are much loved and cared for, are you responsible for a battered child in the home of a substance abuser and a child in the third world who is forced into slave labor or who sleeps on the street? You may wish to help those children, too, but the care you provide to your own takes nothing away from them." by Margaret Anne Cleek (Animal People)
