Reasons for Hate
a detailed look into my many grudges

Person: Reason for hate. Level of Hate, 1-10

george clooney: I hate him mostly because he soiled the good name of Batman -- he's the first Batman since the 1989 blockbuster that has had absolutely no Tim involvement at all. At least val kilmer's movie was produced by Tim, although that movie did contain nicole kidman (see below). There's been enough Batman movies. They didn't need more than two. He's also been in a series of bad movies after that. There's lots of other small, neurotic reasons why I hate him, but this is mainly it. 10

nicole kidman, lady marmalade girls, MTV: Imagine that it's the day of the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards. "Weapon of Choice," the video by Fatboy Slim starring a very animated Christopher Walken is nominated for Best Video, and so is "Lady Marmalade" by those corset-wearing freaks. Unfairly, and in true MTV pop star worshipping style, the corset-wearing freaks vanquish the much-loved Walken and company, for an unimaginative remake of a song that sounded exactly the same 25 years ago when it came out.

Added bonus point of hate: Christopher starred in Tim's Batman Returns and played the Headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow. MTV denied him an award for Best Villain in their 2000 Movie Awards.

Added bonus point against them: "Lady Marmalade" hasn't been seen since it's fall in 2001, but "Weapon of Choice" was a frequent 7:00am guest on VH1's morning show until just recently. 10

cold play: Another "Weapon of Choice" injustice. At the Grammy's, that Cold Play album won for Best Alternative Album, while the clear choice "Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars" was nominated. Cold Play should stay in the pop category where they belong. 7

"shrek," "monsters inc.": I don't like children's movies that make this much money. I don't see why everyone liked "shrek" so much either. I saw it and I thought the jokes were too juvenile-focused for it to be such a popular movie. I guess families go to movies more than I thought. I didn't like "monsters inc" because its merchandise was taking up precious space in the Disney Store during the short time that Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia was availible. I almost didn't see it under the green one-eyed monster rubble the first time I went looking. 8
