[ The art of setting and reaching goals ]

Creating wealth for yourself is one of the most noble ideals you can aspire for.But we all know how frustratingly difficult that can be.This is made worse by our lack of specific,clear-cut goals.Without goals, one will take four steps forward, two steps sideways and six steps backwards, without even realising it!This happens more often than you can imagine which accounts for our lack of progress in achieving our goals.

Now,to create wealth you need to shift focus away from you and concentrate on what you can do for other people. You cannot create wealth engaging in self-serving transactions all the time. So,the first question should be "How can I be of help?".You see,we are always exchanging things. We are exchanging emotions, currencies, security, knowledge etc.For example, when you buy a loaf of bread for R5,00,it simply means that according to you ,that loaf of bread has more VALUE than the R5,00 it costs.Translated, you are exchanging your R5,00 for a loaf of bread.Herein lies the crux of the matter. It follows then that your wealth-creation goals should be focused on adding value to the lives of other people. You will soon realise that once this is done on a constant basis, the money will inevitably follow.Irrespective of what you do you are going to have to deal with people and to succeed you have to be above board. You have to be honest.

Let us say,for instance you have above average marketing skills. To start creating wealth, come up with ideas of how your skills can be of use to other people with limited or no marketing expertise. It becomes clear that possibilities are without limits.I mean, think about it,who can use marketing genius?.Aspiring business people, small business owners, business opportunity seekers etc all can use marketing  expertise. To get the ball rolling, introduce yourself and your skills to a local business owner. It has been my experience that countless small businesses require the right marketing mix in order to rise to new heights. That is where you come in.You can structure your agreement (with the business owner)  in a manner that will ensure that you do not get a  single cent until your marketing efforts yield substantial growth. Before  you start prostesting, may I remind you that the focus is not on you but on the other person getting what he wants:growth and profits for/from his business.Do not lose sight of that. That is important if you are serious about creating wealth. Once the business picks up you can start reaping your just rewards. This can be multiplied by helping other businesses in the same way.You will soon realise that your goal of creating wealth becomes temptingly within reach.

The same wealth-creation principle can be applied in countless other situations.People first,money/reward later. And thinking about it ,this does make sense, does it not?.If your focus is on the next person, you will find it easy to satisfy his needs. And if his focus is on you,he will find it easy to satisfy your needs. So ,in essence you will be exchanging in a meaningful way.

Keep giving and prepare to receive .
