Practice Round -

Sunny/Hot

Since we (WDGA) arrived at Perth, Australia. We all were very tired but it did not stop us having a few rounds of golf as well as plenty of putting and driving range.

Since then, our lowest handicap of 5 - Nicholas Daniel has a bit of chesty cough but managed to recover since the end of the practice round, which by then Sarah Lawrence (handicap 23) has a bit of cough and sore throat which also recovered quickly. Myself, Jason Davies (Captain) has now got a chesty cough but it not stopping me to lead the players out during the practice round and during the championship week.

We all then relaxed in an outdoor hot spa following some fun in the swimming pool before myself attended to a Captains meeting for rules briefing.

Final world rankings (Wales)

Sarah, Nicholas had a bad cough during the mid week championship and they made every effort to conitune the championship. Michelle pulled out after first round due to an old injury on her shoulder, Peter has pulled a muscle on his right lower arm just before the final round but managed to conitune to play. Myself as a captain had then caught a bad cough but that did not stop me supporting the players throughout the championship.

Please be aware that this is the first time WALES has ever entered the championship and we will know how to improve our skills ready for Scotland championship in 2010. We are aimimng to go higher on our Welsh team rankings in the future.
