Statement of the Director/Screenwriter
|
What I had in mind while writing the screenplay for The Way of the
Vampire was to create a side of Vampires that we normally aren’t used
to. I decided to use the very real subject of abuse with the fantasy of
Vampires.
In essence this isn’t a Horror film it’s a Drama that happens to have
Vampires as the main characters.
While making this film I wanted to create a very real atmosphere. I
wanted people to identify with the Main character of Vayu. Any one
whose ever been in any type of Abusive or Sado-Masochistic
relationship.
A truly vicious cycle of feeding off of someone's fear, very much like
a vampire feeds of a victims blood.The abused is the victim, the abuser
the vampire. In this case they are both vampires. |
